𝗪𝗵𝗲𝗻 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗘𝗻𝗴𝗹𝗶𝘀𝗵 𝗣𝗿𝗲𝗺𝗶𝗲𝗿 𝗟𝗲𝗮𝗴𝘂𝗲 𝗧𝗼𝗼𝗸 𝗮 𝗕𝗮𝗰𝗸𝘀𝗲𝗮𝘁 𝘁𝗼 '𝗔𝗻𝗻𝗶𝗲' This past weekend, I found myself facing a dilemma: Should I stick to my usual ritual of catching the weekend’s English Premier League matches on TV, or should I attend a school musical? Now, this wasn’t just any musical; it was ‘𝗔𝗻𝗻𝗶𝗲,’ performed by a group of incredibly talented kids. A dear friend had convinced me to go because her daughter was part of the cast, and the show was raising funds for a school for visually impaired children. So, despite my hesitation (and a few internal groans about missing those epic goals and tackles), I agreed. Fast forward to 10 minutes into the performance, and I knew I’d made the right choice. These kids were amazing! Their energy, passion, and commitment to the performance had me smiling, tapping my feet, and almost singing along (quietly, of course). As a coach (and a die-hard football fan), this whole experience was a reminder: sometimes, it’s good to shake up the routine. We get so caught up in our own little agendas, thinking we’re making all the “right” moves, that we forget there are other ways to score a win. So, next time you find yourself debating whether to stick to your schedule or do something a little different, consider taking that leap. You never know what kind of '𝗔𝗻𝗻𝗶𝗲' moment might be waiting for you! Sometimes, the most rewarding goals aren’t scored on the pitch but in the moments we choose to be fully present. 𝘎𝘶𝘪𝘭𝘵𝘺! 𝘐 𝘤𝘰𝘶𝘭𝘥𝘯’𝘵 𝘩𝘦𝘭𝘱 𝘮𝘺𝘴𝘦𝘭𝘧 𝘧𝘳𝘰𝘮 𝘴𝘯𝘦𝘢𝘬𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘪𝘯 𝘢 𝘣𝘪𝘵 𝘰𝘧 𝘢 𝘱𝘶𝘯 𝘵𝘩𝘦𝘳𝘦. 🙂 And as coaches, it's a reminder to help our clients (and ourselves) break out of set patterns and discover the unexpected joys waiting off the beaten path. I’ve been overthinking nonprofit campaign videos for YEARS. The struggle led me to this 10-part video framework to help our audience take action. 1 - Grab attention with a bold claim (the hook) 2 - Shift tone to highlight urgency 3 - Explain the issue–FAST 4 - Share real stories and real faces 5 - Show the scale 6 - Reveal why the problem persists 7 - Pivot to hope 8 - Introduce the solution 9 - Outline the plan 10 - Call viewers to action Our team at GCR just used this framework to produce a video about breaking generational slavery in Pakistan.
