Meanwhile, over at ISO 17011 (which ANAB alleges to conform to), it says "4.4.11 The accreditation body and any part of the same legal entity shall not offer or provide any service that affects its impartiality, such as consultancy." The standard then only allows training when "these courses confine themselves to the provision of generic information that is freely available in the public domain, i.e. they cannot provide specific solutions in relation to the activities of [ANAB]." ANAB is offering "tailored" and "customized" training, which is not allowed. The ANAB website goes further and says "ANAB also offers completely custom courses on conformity assessment standards and related topics, such ... improving your internal auditing skills." These appear to be overt violations of ISO 17011, but will the IAF do anything? My prediction is they "blame the web guy," and say the marketing language was wrong, but then providing consulting anyway.
