✨ Rethinking Business Transformation: Embracing the Era of Regenerative Organizations ✨ 📌 Encountering the headline "Has business transformation become obsolete?" in a recent HBR article prompted me to pause and contemplate its implications. I've often heard colleagues lamenting about being amidst yet another major transformation when discussing their roles. Intrigued, I delved into the article to grasp its essence: Business transformation has evolved from a singular, one-off endeavor to an ongoing process requiring a fresh approach. In essence, leaders must embrace the concept of regenerative organizations. 🌍 So, what exactly is a regenerative organization? Much like the natural world, it embodies a holistic perspective that intertwines modern business operations and performance with the broader ecosystems of people, places, and organizations within its sphere of influence. 💪 But how does one cultivate such an organizational ethos? It begins with fostering a culture inhabited by individuals possessing a can-do attitude—one that thrives on uncertainty, seeks opportunities for positive change, and takes proactive steps to facilitate evolutionary transformations across the entire company. 🎯 In essence, the era of business transformation as a one-time event is behind us. Today, it's about nurturing regenerative organizations that continuously adapt, evolve, and thrive within the dynamic landscape of modern business. Are you ready to embrace this paradigm shift? #BusinessTransformation #RegenerativeOrganizations #Leadership #Innovation https://lnkd.in/dvRSKNNM

Regenerative versus transformational. Interesting perspective from HBR. What’s the difference you say? And, if you’re constantly transforming, at what point do you become regenerative? Here’s one statement about it: “In the regenerative businesses that we’ve worked with, leaders understand that transformation is not a one-time special project, and it’s not about a single topic.” Further…. “When we work with regenerative leaders, our goal is progress toward a long-term vision, not making knee-jerk tweaks.” And I love the closing line… “Let’s regenerate. That’s how we truly transform.” So I’m more in the regenerative camp than the transformational camp, although they clearly overlap. Good material, and a new buzz word, too!! #Business #BusinessTransformation #Transformation

Has Business Transformation Become Obsolete? How does this impact IT Transformation? ◾ Darwin wrote of species adaptability, which is by nature evolutionary, not spasmodic, and in harmony with the broader ecosystem. It’s not resiliency. It’s regeneration. ◾ When we work with regenerative leaders, our goal is progress toward a long-term vision, not making knee-jerk tweaks. ◾ The most successful transformations create intentional change one step at a time. ◾ Prioritize the most important changes first. Start by rewiring the most critical processes. ◾ The future is full of changes, challenges, and surprises. We cannot plan or de-risk them all. The only way forward? Embrace uncertainty, find positive change from the triggers, and stay flexible and excited about driving evolutionary, more lasting change. https://lnkd.in/eGXPuHKm

I recently came across Alex Liu and Abby Klanecky's article "𝑯𝒂𝒔 𝑩𝒖𝒔𝒊𝒏𝒆𝒔𝒔 𝑻𝒓𝒂𝒏𝒔𝒇𝒐𝒓𝒎𝒂𝒕𝒊𝒐𝒏 𝑩𝒆𝒄𝒐𝒎𝒆 𝑶𝒃𝒔𝒐𝒍𝒆𝒕𝒆?" and found it incredibly thought-provoking. They challenge the conventional approach to business transformation, highlighting the pitfalls of reactive, short-term changes. Instead, they advocate for "regenerative transformation," a concept inspired by Darwin's theory of adaptability. Regenerative businesses prioritize long-term sustainability, viewing themselves as integral parts of broader ecosystems. These organizations focus on creating lasting value by investing in people, fostering collaboration, and embracing holistic change management. Together, they emphasize the importance of a customer-centric culture and adaptive value chains to drive performance and resilience. This article is a must-read for anyone interested in innovative business strategies and sustainable growth. #BusinessTransformation #Leadership #Adaptibility https://lnkd.in/gmbw3G67

Flipping your point of view to work backward from a potential future often surfaces a whole lot of options that are hard to find when you're just looking at the next step in front of you... nice article on regenerative transformation!
It may be difficult and even exhausting, but it’s still true. We see that business and community are inextricably connected. We need to unlock and unleash the people energy from all our colleagues, our shareholders, and the broader society to effect lasting change, given this interdependency. Courageous leaders will reexamine and rethink their approaches and ask the right questions to change for the better. My Kearney colleagues, including co-author Abby Klanecky, are proud to work shoulder-to-shoulder with our clients to #regenerate a future that works for everyone. #BusinessTransformations seem never-ending right now, and for good reason. Between the rise of #AI and various socioeconomic pressures, organizations are forced to grow and adapt as they see fit. However, Alex Liu and Abby Klanecky point out that most transformation initiatives fail. To ensure that yours don't, they recommend adopting a regenerative mindset, focused on investing in teams to make a long-term impact. #Leadership #DigitalTransformation
