What’s New in Oracle Exadata Database Service on Cloud@Customer? The latest Oracle Database release is available! Check if you can deploy it already. My personal top three features that provide a direct benefit to your business by simplifying application development and operations. 1️⃣ Supporting all kinds of data representations in the very same database. Just think of it: relational model, property graphs, spatial data, JSON Relational Duality JSON duality, and now vectors to make using LLMs a simple-to-use feature for your applications. Benefit: Bring the logic to the data and reduce data integration effort. 2️⃣ Enhanced and simplified security with the SQL Firewall now built into Oracle Database. Benefit: Lower your operational risk and be prepared for a storm of SQL hitting your database. 3️⃣ Lock-free column value reservations enable concurrent transactions to proceed without being blocked on updates of heavily updated rows. Lock-Free Reservations are held on the rows instead of locking them. Benefit: Reduce the chance of locking to improve user-experience and simplify app development. There is much more to be discovered and used. I suspect next week, I will see another three features and will not stop being amazed by the completeness of a single software product.
