I had the pleasure of participating with my colleague cezar pasca in an event organized by Monsson. 🌬️🔋☀️ Prime Batteries Technology and Monsson have put into operation the largest electricity storage capacity in Romania. This is part of the first hybrid photovoltaic-wind-battery project within the Mireasa Wind Park in Romania. 🌬️🔋☀️ The storage unit, with an installed capacity of 24 MWh (6MW x 4h), has been built in the Constanța county in Romania by Monsson, based on Prime Batteries Technology solutions. It is the first out of three stages with a total planned capacity of 216 MWh to be put into operation until 2025. The unit will be charged with energy generated by the already existing 50MW Mireasa wind farm, as well as with solar energy produced by the 35MW Galbiori 2 PV farm which is under construction and should be connected to the grid in 2024. In case of no wind or sun, energy from the national grid may also charge the facility. All operations are seamlessly automated and remotely controlled. KNESS experts took part in the Solarplaza Summit Baltics to discuss new opportunities for the solar energy sector development in the Baltic States. The event became a platform for fruitful networking and brought together solar energy experts, leading market players, developers, equipment manufacturers, investors, etc. Tetiana Petrovska, Head of Marketing at KNESS, and Andrii Kalinovskyi, Director of KNESS Baltic, joined the discussion. Implementing a large-scale energy market reform to synchronise the grid with mainland Europe entails new challenges, such as limited grid capacity and land suitable for solar power plants. The new plant will supply 10,000 households in Cēsis and the surrouding area with #greenelectricity. 12 million euros of Latvian private capital have been invested in the creation of the new power plant. Opening the 'C SES' plant was the Speaker of the Saeima, Daiga Mieriņa, who said: "Innovations in energy and business go hand in hand, so I am really happy that today we are opening the largest #solarpanelpark in Latvia so far - Cēsu SES. This is one of the largest #renewableenergy projects, which marks our country's course in #greenenergy." 🤝 Haitai Solar signed a strategic cooperation agreement with EEHD and WPT companies, jointly opening a new chapter in the development of green energy. 🤝 On November 13, Mr. Stephan Rothe, CEO of Germany's EEHD company, and Dr. Hegenbart, CEO of Germany's WPT company, visited Tangshan Haitai New Energy Technology Co., Ltd. (referred to as "Haitai Solar"). VERTICAL SOLAR SYSTEM TO BE INSTALLED AT FLOATING PV PROJECT IN BAVARIA German startup SINN Power has unveiled plans to build the world's first floating photovoltaic system with solar modules installed vertically, overcoming the challenges posed by Germany's strict regulations on floating solar projects.   The 1.8 MW project, set to be constructed on a lake at a gravel pit in Gilching, Bavaria, has secured strong support from local authorities. SINN Power's innovative approach utilises its patented "Floating-SKipp" mounting systems to arrange the nearly 2,500 solar modules in an east-west orientation, with a distance of 3.9 metres between rows.   This vertical installation significantly reduces the utilised surface area, allowing more modules to be installed without exceeding the 15% coverage limit stipulated by Germany's Renewable Energy Act. #Agrivoltaics have been all the rage this year, and perhaps they’re raging nowhere more than in Italy. Italy just recently held its first ever tender for agrivoltaics, and it was a big one! Large projects awarded contracts include “270 MW for European Energy, a 62 MW Repower array in Sicily, and a 73 MW Next Energy Capital installation in Campania.” There’s also “Solarig with 122 MW and Photosol with 55 MW.
