Through Policing-Free Schools I see the ways that police and policing institutions insatiably seek out proximity to, access and contact with children and youth. This access and contact with children and youth for many young people IS ADVERSE POLICE CONTACT and harm shows up in multiple ways. #Polooming (Police + Grooming) is one of those ways. Rather than safeguarding children and youth—many including elected officials, schooling spaces, administrators, non-profits, charities, organizations etc. create and feed pathways for police access to young people. There are multiple best harm reduction methods, reach out to and connect with us—email: connect@policingfreeschools.ca #PolicingFreeSchools

The safety and security within our institutional walls is paramount to not only those that are within them, but also for the safety of the public. Without our officers being at the top of their game each and every shift, not only do officers suffer burnout but often they will go on leave, adding to the over burdened resources already within. This will ultimately come back to the public, whether it is fiscally or with less offenders being put in jail, therefore free to be on the streets. This is one of the biggest reasons that CX Solid Foundation asks for donations and sponsorships from the general public. The safety and security of the community within those wall ultimately falls on every Canadians shoulders in some small measure. #cxstrong donations@cxsolid.ca https://cxsolid.ca/

December 3 is #GivingTuesday, a global day of giving built on shared humanity and generosity. Individuals and organizations around the world are coming together to show that there is strength in unity. Our Survivor Reentry Project is the only national program that provides criminal record relief to survivors who have escaped their traffickers, only to be weighed down by criminal records-. These survivors often lose jobs, housing, and even custody of their children. We connect survivors to a nationwide network of pro bono lawyers, trained by SRP, to clear those records and restore their rights and safety. We need YOU to create MORE positive change. More funding will provide more lawyers, to clear more records for more survivors. Donate and help more survivors in need! https://buff.ly/48YG74I

#BusinessCrimeMatters How your local #BID #BCRP can support local communities during these challenging times:

In partnership with colleagues from Devon and Cornwall Police Office of the Police and Crime Commissioner for Devon, Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly Exeter City Council and InExeter #BID, we are stepping up to ensure that everyone in our city is safe. www.ebac.org.uk

Illicit websites serve as a hotbed for scammers, traffickers, and predators—essentially, the worst of the worst. These platforms, openly accessible on the internet, are where DeliverFund gathers crucial data used to assist law enforcement in securing arrests and convictions. #HumanTraffickingAwareness #TechThatProtects #HumanTraffickingPrevention #Nonprofit #Charity #ItEndsHere #Trafficking #HumanTrafficking

The Ask for ANI scheme allows those at risk or suffering from abuse can discreetly signal that they need help and access to support. A trained member of the pharmacy team will then offer a private space where they can understand if the victim needs to speak to the police or would like help to access support services such as a national or local domestic abuse helplines. The codeword scheme will complement the charity Hestia’s UK SAYS NO MORE Safe Spaces initiative by enabling pharmacy staff to offer immediate and emergency assistance. Building on the successful #YouAreNotAlone campaign, this scheme is another way Government is raising awareness of the vital support available through domestic abuse charities and other partners including the police. #boots #askforANI #domesticabuse #awareness #YouAreNotAlone

Following a tragedy, we often ask ourselves, 'What can we do to prevent this in the future?' Last week was nothing short of tragic. But we are not helpless. We can: ✅volunteer as a mediator or mentor ✅engage youth & families in our community ✅advocate for gun safety policies ✅donate to organizations supporting youth & families, and more. It's up to each of us. What will you do? #PreventGunViolence #TakeAction 🔗 https://lnkd.in/e2iWvPGh

Do you have a role to play in spreading the message that domestic and family violence (DFV) is not acceptable in our community? May is DFV Prevention Month and we’re looking for 50 businesses to lead by example. (But we need you to sign up now, so we hit our target in May!😂) We need your help, to: • raise community awareness of DFV and its impacts; • promote a clear message that domestic and family violence is not tolerated in our communities; and • raise money for The Haven to house and support over 44 women and 113 children per year. You can make an impact. Sign up now as a fundraiser and we’ll be in contact to discuss what you can do in the month of May to help.
