VR MAN may have failed, but what if we reverse-engineered its mistakes? How could you create a better show? Start with a well-defined premise. Hire writers familiar with your genre. Adapt dialogue for television. Build compelling characters. Don’t shoot before your scripts are ready. Balance ambition with resources. Secure strong leadership. Plan practically, and always learn from mistakes.

🎧 Listen with Your Eyes Closed 🎬 Every engineer in post-production should experience a film with their eyes closed. Why? Because it’s a transformative exercise. Imagine yourself on the mix stage, meticulously balancing elements; or in the editing suite, finessing dialogue; or diving into the sound design, crafting every layer. Maybe you’re even bringing scenes to life through Foley work. Getting into this mindset does more than train your ears—it sharpens your brain. If you’ve been there in your mind, you’ll find yourself there in reality. It’s like my favorite quote by Mike Dooley, “Thoughts become things.” The power of imagination is a projection of how far we want to advance, and where we ultimately want to be. The more vividly we imagine, the closer we bring those aspirations into our lives. So, next time you watch a movie, close your eyes, and let your mind take you to where you want to be. 🚀 #PostProduction #SoundDesign #AudioEngineering #MindsetMatters #ThoughtsBecomeThings

If you want to attract top-tier voice talent to your game but use half a*sed casting strategies: You’ll attract the wrong voices. And spend hours in auditions, missing the sound and fit you need. And keep wondering why your characters don’t come to life. But here’s a simple fix: 1. Define your vision 2. Define your ideal voice Speak directly to that voice and bring your characters to life. Don't go into casting thinking "I'll know it when I hear it". Be crystal clear on: - Character - Tone of voice / voice references - What you want from auditions - the sides / script samples to use and why It’s going to save you hours in the casting process, make every session smoother, and deliver exactly what you’re looking for: Perfectly cast characters.

Entering This Whole World ROI vs. RoEX (Return of Investment vs. Return of Experience) -- Content goers reshape cinema arts, movie theater, global streaming contest and entertainment landscape during post-pandemic and endemic. Traditional return on investment (ROI) metrics are no longer sufficient on their own to determine a company’s success. Shareholder value requires laser focus on how well a company is meeting higher expectations around the customer experience when evaluating whether that company’s value proposition, capabilities, and portfolio of products and services will create a ripple effect and an engagement experience. https://lnkd.in/g2A3z8aF

Excited to share that a recent post of mine was picked up by BusinessWorld as a feature! "The raison d ‘etre of the streaming platforms is subscribers, and not necessarily specific viewing, although one possible future is TVOD. Ergo, the cost perspective of the platforms depends upon their objectives, their creative strategy, and also their size. That is a big reason for the superstar culture going down, and we are seeing a larger number of films and shows which are of relatively low cost, with sharp writing and edgy film making. Interestingly, it is opening up new consumers, and new languages, as viewers are becoming language agnostic. So , virtually all future decision making will telescope towards building the best creative output at lowest cost , which then puts the writers , producers , directors in limelight to drive creative and commercial success of the product . This needs compensation and incentive structures to be aligned to the delivery, and the parameters have to be templated for transparency. The industry may have to look at the sports Industry for inspiration where the base product differentiates between superstars and the hoi polloi, but the success and its spoils are shared equitably with everybody , and not just stars." I just read an interesting post where the person was talking about interrupting the On-Air Talent while filming to ask them if they're sure they want to divulge certain information. That isn't your job as an Editor. or actually as anybody else on the team. nobody. YOUR JOB is to let them know that they can say ANYTHING THEY WANT and then on the strength of YOUR RELATIONSHIP you guarantee them that they will get to see and approve or reject ANYTHING in the program. You don't stop people when they're talking. If you do that, you make them self-conscious and guarded. That makes them perform poorly because now they're wondering what YOU THINK about what they're saying. That is not what you want. You want them to flow freely. Do Not interrupt people that you're recording. Put together the edit that you believe shows them in their best light. 😇 Show it to them and then if they say oh no take this and that out, do it. #FirstWorldProblems

DeepEditor has professional use cases for films/series and advertisements. Below are just a few examples of how industry professionals are engaging with Flawless. Films/series: - Your production requires necessary changes to impactful dialogue during post production and you want to have the camera stay on the performer to avoid cut aways - Reshoots are too costly - Busy talent schedules do not permit reshoots - Removing explicit dialogue for MPA rating reductions (R to PG-13) to increase the target audience Advertising: - Product globalization (Just Eats -> GrubHub) Craft Worldwide - Personalization (Jen A.I. for Virgin Voyages) VML - Unforeseen script changes in post production - Campaign censorship

Thursday Tips; The Power of Pre-Production! A robust pre-production process is the foundation for a smooth, efficient, and successful production Here are some key benefit of doing extensive pre production work before launching any entertainment product: 1. Crystal Clear Vision: Before hitting record, pre-production allows you to define your goals, target audience, and message. This clarity translates to a more focused and impactful final product. 2. Enhanced Efficiency: Imagine a well-oiled machine – that's what a streamlined pre-production process is like. Scripting, storyboarding, and location scouting all happen here, ensuring a smooth and efficient shoot. 3. Cost Control: Pre-production helps avoid costly surprises on set. Budgeting, equipment needs, and talent acquisition are all ironed out beforehand, ensuring you stay within budget. 4.Creative Collaboration: Pre-production brings together the entire team – directors, producers, and creatives. This collaborative environment fosters innovation and ensures everyone is on the same page. Investing in pre-production saves you time, money, and headaches in the long run. It's the secret weapon for crafting high-quality, engaging video content. #StudioRED #Production #Filmmaking
