Governance and local community capacity are often the biggest hurdles, and local culture plays a key role in shaping the outcomes. Tourism is not just a victim of climate change, it also contributes to the problem, and that includes biodiversity loss. The future of tourism relies on nature flourishing, so it would be shortsighted of Wild Adventures Melbourne (WAM) to operate in a way that delivers extraordinary experiences in Australia's spectacular and iconic nature, yet did nothing to support and protect ecosystems and biodiversity. As a tourism operator, i'm acutely aware that WAM needs to be part of the solution, rather than part of the problem. That has been in our DNA since the very beginning. This is why I created the WAM 4 Project. The WAM 4 Project is dedicated to supporting the long-term conservation and protection of nature, wildlife and culture on the Mornington Peninsula and surrounds so that it can thrive and be enjoyed for generations to come.
