I genuinely appreciate SICKDOGWOLFMAN's brand and their strong opinions, but if all roads lead to "put someone in a mascot uniform", what's the point of having a unique perspective at all?
It seems like Australian ad agencies (and their clients) seem to have just three ideas:
1. Mascot or animal costumes
2. Schlubby guys with 5 o'clock shadow debasing themselves
3. Rhyming copy
The argument might be "this works" but how does that square with SICKDOGWOLFMAN's "No Best Practices" (https://lnkd.in/gzJ-Gf9C) approach?
Managing large-scale public events like the Olympics presents significant challenges, not just in technical infrastructure but also in overall management. Efficiency is paramount due to limited resources.
The primary goal in such endeavors is maximizing impact while controlling the inherent complexity. This requires strategic planning with clearly defined objectives and an integrated approach, ensuring all aspects contribute to the overall impact.
Furthermore, adaptive management is essential. This involves maintaining flexibility and agility to respond to unexpected events, implementing real-time monitoring and feedback systems for immediate issue identification and correcting responses.
This approach aligns closely with the Viable System Model (VSM), a framework for designing resilient organizations. The VSM's focus on managing complexity and maximizing impact through harmonious subsystem interaction provides a robust model for orchestrating large-scale events.
