The Airbnb.org team can provide you with temporary housing at no cost, they will contact you directly. REMINDER: If there are people in your community who need emergency housing, direct them to call their local 211, or the FLUMC at (863) 688-5563 or toll free (800) 282-8011. They are working directly with Airbnb.org to house those displaced by the hurricanes. Canceling without fees or consequences: Reservations at your listing may qualify for cancellation under the Major Disruptive Events Policy. Qualifying events include government mandates such as an evacuation, curfew, shelter-in-place order, and a large-scale outage of essential utilities in your area. When the policy applies, guests can cancel for a full refund, and Hosts can cancel without fees or other adverse consequences. If the policy does not apply, Hosts in your area can still choose to cancel reservations with check-ins through at least October 10 without incurring fees or other adverse consequences. Our hearts are shattered as we witness the devastation caused by torrential rains and flash floods in southeastern Spain. At least 95 souls have been lost, but this disaster’s toll goes far beyond numbers. It is a tragedy that resonates across Europe, impacting every one of us. In Chiva, near Valencia, over a year's worth of rain fell within just eight hours. Bridges have been swept away, cars torn from streets, and residents cling to anything that offers safety. It’s impossible to truly comprehend the scale of loss and destruction that has unfolded. To all those mourning loved ones, we share in your grief and extend our deepest condolences. 📝 Recent Fires in Türkiye and the Contributions of Non-Governmental Organizations: Fires that erupted in several parts of Türkiye in June and July caused enormous devastation and damaged natural life and residential areas. The wind accelerated the spread of the fires, which later reached residential neighborhoods. Citizens from villages had to be evacuated. NGOs played a critical role in fighting the fires. This disaster has once again brought to light the importance of NGOs in society. Cooperation and solidarity across all segments of society significantly impact overcoming such disasters and the prevention of similar incidents in the future.
