Please show up. Listen, I love all the positive changes we see going on in the health insurance industry, but I'm using this post as a plea to my peers who are hell-bent on disrupting the industry. Please show up. That goes for you and your solution. Every week I have to listen to clients who have placed their trust in a new and innovative solution, only to have it produce results nowhere near what was sold. I hear the stories about the people behind these solutions who aren't showing up for calls or backing out at the last minute because they're pursuing bigger revenue opportunities. I LOVE what you're doing, keep disrupting, but please back up your words with action. Advisors are placing their (and their clients) trust in you. DO NOT sacrifice your reputation for more revenue. We can crap on the BUCA's all we want, but the reason employers keep giving them their premium is because they know what they're getting. All it takes is one burned attempt to go "outside the box" and we've lost another employer to comfort and they're never coming back. I know I'm not popular amongst certain crowds because I speak my mind, but I want to see the industry advance, I want to see the health insurance industry changed for the better. But, it starts with showing up. Stop over-promising and under-delivering. Do what you say you're going to do and we'll actually make a dent in this messed up system we're fighting against.
It’s easy to get distracted when looking to grow fast, but it is possible to grow fast if you truly understand your ICP (ideal customer profile) and go deep within it. This enables a solution the ability to understand if they can deliver and proactively have the awareness of where the potential friction points are to manage expectations/mitigate disruptions. Too many solutions promise perfect, when most strategies that are effective whether cost containment, employee navigation, or a new benefit strategy require change management. The no shows and reschedules though, that’s just poor time management/shiny object syndrome. Good post Andy Neary 👏
No truer words. Be the expert and build the trust. We all agree we need change, but not for the sake of it.
That is exactly what Green Imaging does. We are not perfect, but we are available and accountable.
This! It’s so relevant. Do what you say you’re going to do seems so simple… yet it’s far from what’s actually happening in many situations.
Love this
Customer service 101 . Good post, Andy 🍎
Great stuff Andy!! 🎯
Unfortunately, I’ve seen a lot of selective amnesia in our industry. Let's cut through the noise and call a spade a spade, Andy Neary. True accountability doesn't come with a fancy LinkedIn post. It comes from genuine reflection, owning up to mistakes, following up, and making sincere efforts to change the change. So here's to the real warriors out there – those who walk the talk without the need for a virtual spotlight. Your authenticity shines brighter than any hollow proclamation ever could, and your credibility goes a long way in my books. Thanks for bringing this to the forefront, Andy. Long overdue :))
I help employers structure a benefits program that fits their budget and that their employees appreciate.
6moSay it louder, Andy! 👏🏼👏🏼 I’ve been doing this for 24 years, but I’m very vocal with the new “disruptive and innovative” vendors in the market that I will NEVER make my clients be a guinea pig in a new solution that promises to be the next best answer. I have to be 100% confident that the solution will do exactly what it’s intended to do and will take care of all of the employees from something as basic as preventive care to the employee with a million dollar claim. There are too many brokers that will do anything to gain business, but I wonder where they’ll be when the new solution turns out horrible and the broker is having to answer to a family with a million dollar condition that the coverage isn’t what they thought it was. Sure, the broker will get fired, but will leave a family and the employer in a horrible mess. I know it’s a weakness of mine ➡️ I do care too much, but it’s also what has made our agency what it is today and so we’ll continue doing what we do.❤️
