I'm back with Q1 2024 report 😁 It has been challenging as we bootstrap and progress slowly, yet we are profitable and enhancing our product 💪 Big thanks to my team Aleksandr Shtraks (business dev & SMM) Daria Frolova (product), Denis Rozenkin (CTO), Arthur Khabirov (flutter front-end), UX teams from Careerist, and my investors (6 angels and 2 VCs). Short summary of Q1 2024 is below (read the full report here: https://lnkd.in/gF5taTNm) - Improved product & boosted Social Media Marketing to reach 262,200 users. - Enhanced paid marketing efficiency, expanded partnerships, & initiated new product dev. - MRR hit $3,540 with 24,318 new installs & 927 active subscriptions. - Expenses: $850 on ads, $1,500 on team, $500 on infrastructure. - Maintained bootstrapped operation, prioritizing growth & user engagement. - Focus ahead: sustain momentum, drive growth, engage users (avg. 14k MAU), & enhance product. As usual, the report is fully transparent, with all the numbers and insights. An important milestone: Just a week ago, I made a full stop on all Facebook Ads. Guess what? Nothing happened, we even gained a bit more revenue and now saving $600/month. So now we are shifting away from paid ads on Facebook completely. Our focus now lies on organic user growth, expanding our social media presence, and fostering collaborations with content creators. In 2019, my goal was to develop an app uniting the worldwide basketball community on one platform. We are making strides towards realizing this dream! I believe that one day, we aspire for our app to be utilized by the pioneering Mars colonies for casual pickup games 🚀🏀

📢 Alright, I believe it's time to share what we have been up to lately. We founded Rely a few months ago with a vision to build an app that would serve as a bridge between players and venues, dealing with the challenges of player availability and venue scarcity while maximizing space efficiency.   Truth is, our vision might seem far off from where we are now, but we're making the first steps toward it. Let's share what we're doing, get feedback, and find some early users! What we try to achieve: - Ensure a full turnout for your weekly team sports practice by tapping into a larger player pool. - Simplify booking to deal with venue scarcity and maximize space efficiency. - Offer event organization & management features like recurring events, sign-ups, payments, and more. Meanwhile, we've given Expo Go demos to our friends and family. - Applied to accelerators and gathered some feedback from a few VCs. So, in a nutshell, we've just scratched the surface. We're working on getting it up and running on the App Store, striking deals with venues and event organizers, and raising pre-seed. Enhancements are in the works. - New users think the benefits shown on home are “their” benefits. Improvements are needed as the user’s benefits are in their profile. - Immediate change: Update banner to “sign up, add multiple wallets, and track all your NFT benefits in your profile” until home is updated. 📦 Things We Ship in June & July: - Watchlist: Track projects and their benefits. - Archive: View and move “passed” benefits. - Marketplace links for collections and partner prioritization. - About Us - Calendar: Add benefits as events to your calendar. - Notifications - API: Allow other apps to use benefit data. Talks with cool apps underway. - Improved discovery mode/personalization. - Filter options in discovery mode. 🚀 Goals to Scale More Benefits Per Day: - Currently averaging 30 new benefits per day. - Targeting 50 new benefits daily in July, especially with onchain summer on Base and AI enhancements. 🎤 Web3 Fest Switzerland: - Spoke at the Web3 Fest in Zürich at the Five Hotel. Thanks to Swiss NFT Association and WEB3FEST for the invite. - Great panel discussion on building community. - NFTs are perfect for building community, loyalty, and identity, essential for “super fans” and “brand ambassadors.” 📅 Upcoming Events: - Potentially speaking in Brussels during ETH CC. When we first started building Otto, the goal was simple: help people build healthy habits without it feeling like a chore. So we built an intuitive habit tracker that turns building healthy habits into a fun, gamified experience. The goal for users is to raise their very own super cute virtual otter by taking care of themselves. So far, we’ve helped users drink more water, meditate, and even tackle their to-do lists, all while watching their Otto grow. Since launching our beta app in September, we’ve had 755 organic downloads and seen some amazing stats: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 100% 5 star app reviews (68 in total) 🕒 10m 40s average session time 🧲 29% Day 7 retention, 20% Day 30 Retention ✅ 25,209 goals completed by users But we’ve hit a bottleneck with user acquisition. People love Otto when they find it, but not enough people know we exist. Building a startup is like raising a baby otter 🦦, incredibly rewarding, but also very challenging, especially when you don’t have any marketing budget. That’s why we’re applying to the #RCGrowthChallenge for the incredible opportunity to work with RevenueCat and Steve Young. With their support and expertise, we can support more people and hopefully hit 500 downloads a day, which would allow us to grow Otto full-time. More importantly, we want the opportunity to share our journey with the app community, building in public to inspire and support other devs who are navigating the ups and downs of startup life. A Heartfelt Look Back at 2023 with BeatFantasy Namaste LinkedIn Family, As I sipped my chai this morning, I couldn't help but reflect on the rollercoaster year that was 2023 for us at BeatFantasy. It feels like just yesterday when we embarked on this dream in April, full of hope and a bit of naivety about what lay ahead. Let me be honest, entrepreneurship is no cakewalk. It's tougher than any cricket match I've watched! The highs are high, but the lows? They really test your mettle. When the 28% GST regulation hit the fantasy sports industry in October, it felt like a googly we hadn’t anticipated. Our well-wishers, from potential investors to my own parents, were understandably worried. The advice to pack up wasn’t rare. But, you know what? We stuck through. It’s that Indian spirit of 'Jugaad' – making the best of what we have – that kept us going. We huddled together as a team, brainstormed over countless cups of chai, and found our way through the maze. And here's the heartening part – as I write this, BeatFantasy is humbly cruising at a $80K yearly run-rate. We’ve managed this feat bootstrapped, relying on our grit and grind, and yes, profitability is in the mix too! This journey has been less about the destination and more about the learnings along the way. It's about the late nights, the team discussions that turned into family-like banter, and the relentless pursuit of a dream against all odds. I am filled with gratitude for every individual who’s been a part of this – my team, our users, mentors, and every single person who’s lent an ear or a helping hand.
