Let's say it louder for the people in the back: the anti-rights movement in the United States, the extremists that are banning abortion in U.S. states, are also working to fund anti-abortion and anti-LBGTI movements in Africa. It's only through coordinating and collaborating with fellow advocates like Evelyne Opondo and so many more across both continents that we can protect all our rights. #reproductivejustice

We measured performance by 32 different metrics across three areas: health outcomes; health care quality and prevention; and coverage, access, and affordability. Americans want more #healthcare issues discussed for the 2024 Election season.... In today's Health Populi blog, I discuss a new Gallup and West Health poll revealing that U.S. voters, across political party, want more details on several health care challenges people face in daily American life -- including, 1. The security of #Medicare and #SocialSecurity 2. Lowering the cost of #prescriptiondrugs 3. Making health care cost more affordable, and, 4. Bolstering #mentalhealth resources for all. The survey doesn't go into #womenshealth access at all in the Post-Dobbs era, calling out that most people regardless of party ID are concerned about a range of health care challenges that have become kitchen-table issues for most families. Arizona Supreme Court Ruling Clears Way for Near-Total Abortion Ban “Arizona’s conservative Supreme Court on Tuesday revived a near-total ban on abortion, invoking an 1864 law that forbids the procedure except to save a mother’s life and punishes providers with prison time.” Reading this in the Washington Post made me shudder. It’s bad enough that when half of all pregnancies in the world are unintended, this archaic law seeks to remove a woman’s right to control her own body. But, even more sinister to me is that it illustrates how women’s rights are literally being rolled back to a time when America was fighting a civil war about another form of coercive control. Addressing unintended pregnancies is undoubtedly crucial, and access to advanced contraception could be a game-changer (see World Economic Forum film below). But it's also essential not to lose sight of the bigger picture; advocating for #womenrights, fighting against regressive policies, and ensuring that every individual has the freedom to make their own choices about their bodies and their lives. ❓ What can you do today https://lnkd.in/eZs3c8zm #genderhealthgap #activism #innovation
