In the luxury world, symbols are more than just visual elements. They are the essence of a brand’s identity and heritage. 🐎 Burberry’s Equestrian Knight Design is a perfect example. It not only represents the brand’s rich history but also embodies values of bravery, honor, and a pioneering spirit. It's important to understand the profound impact these symbols have. They are not mere decorations but powerful narratives that resonate with consumers on an emotional level. Every piece of copy we craft, including translations, should reflect these symbols. Every word we choose must evoke all these images, values and truths enclosed in a symbol. #LuxuryTranslation #Burberry #Translation #Luxury
One of our earliest house codes, the Equestrian Knight was crowd-sourced from a public competition in around 1901. Rich in symbolism, the knight represents honour, the shield signifies protection, the lance embodies reform, and the banner with the Latin word ‘Prorsum,’ meaning ‘Forward,’ reflects our brand’s direction. Though its design has evolved throughout the years, it remains a symbol of Burberry’s protective and progressive spirit. Learn more about the EKD here: https://lnkd.in/d4Xr3Wcx
