🦷 Why the Discovery Process in Full Mouth Dental Implant Treatment is So Challenging To say that navigating the patient journey to find full mouth dental implant treatment is overwhelming, is an understatement. Here are a few reasons why: 1.) Lack of Transparency: Prices vary widely, and it’s often unclear what’s included. Patients struggle to get straightforward answers about costs and included components and stages of their treatment. 2.) Provider Credentials & Experience: The level of training and expertise varies greatly among providers. Some only offer local anesthesia, while others are trained in advanced techniques and use IV anesthesia or third-party anesthesiologists. 3.) Patient-Provider Match Variability: Not all providers can handle complex cases. Matching the right provider to the patient's specific needs is crucial, but not always a match. This leads to patients seeking multiple 2nd, 3rd, and oftentimes even 4th opinions. 4.) Multiple Hoops to Jump Through: Getting clear answers often requires navigating through a series of consultations and biased information. Clinics are focused on marketing themselves as the best, making it hard to get unbiased information. What patients need is a third-party, independent advocate that allows them to search, discover, learn, and book consultations with the ease of swiping through an iPhone app. 📊 According to a McKinsey survey, over 89% of patients expressed interest in shopping for healthcare services if given the option. 📊 Truven Health Analytics reports US Healthcare prices can vary an astounding 40-50% within a given US metropolitan. It’s time for a change. Patients deserve transparency, ease of access, and trustworthy information to make informed decisions about their oral health. Understanding What’s Not Covered by Medicare Advantage Plans As a Medicare Advantage beneficiary, knowing what services and items are not typically covered is crucial. While these plans offer many benefits beyond Original Medicare, here are some things generally excluded: Experimental Treatments: Unproven therapies and treatments. Long-term Care: Custodial care for daily activities like bathing and eating. Cosmetic Surgery: Procedures for cosmetic purposes unless due to injury. Overseas Healthcare: Routine care outside the U.S., with limited emergency coverage abroad. Routine Foot Care: Services like cutting toenails, unless medically necessary. Hearing Aids: Not all plans cover these; check your specific plan. Understanding these exclusions helps you make informed decisions about your healthcare. Prior authorization is not the main problem. Post-authorization, Post Surgery Claim Review (PSCR), delay, deny, not pay, claw back, recoupment of payments are the problems. This seems like more distraction, diversion, division. If you play their game well, they will change the rules of their game again, wasting our time and energy chasing our tails just like Medicare cuts (they are taking valuable time and energy away from patient care). If you fix prior authorization, they will resort to other tricks in addition to prior authorization, such as post-authorization, Post Surgery Claim Review (PSCR), etc. We have to be smarter. #PSCR #PostAuthorization #PriorAuthorization #DelayandDeny #DelayDenyNotPay #clawback #recoupment #HealthcareAdvocacy #Healthcare #Medicine #Patients "UnitedHealthcare launching national gold-card program" https://lnkd.in/gfMe-9Zs

The ever increasing complexity of payer requirements causing a rising number of claim denials creates increased work demand on staff who is already overworked. This translates to decreased profits and increased stress for providers and takes away focus from patient care. Outsourcing revenue cycle management with a partner such as Allied Practice Management Solutions www.alliedpmsolutions.com can lower this burden and allow providers to focus on what they do best- caring for patients.
