Anglo American Foundation’s Post

"Umuntu ngumuntu ngabantu" – a person is a person through others. When we asked Khathu what made her most proud this year, she shared:  🗣️ "I am most proud to work in an organisation that values the importance of partnerships that are based on reciprocity, knowledge sharing, and collaboration." 🤝 We believe that true impact is built on trust, mutual respect, and the understanding that we achieve so much more when we learn from one another. Khathu’s reflection is a powerful reminder of the strength we find in collaboration. What’s been your proudest moment this year? Let’s celebrate it together! 👇

The planet - our only habitat- is not liking Anglo’s idea of reciprocity and partnerships. Neither are the thousands of people who work and or live near mines who suffer debilitating health conditions due to the negative impacts of mining operations. If your sentiment were true, you would be concerned, and you definitively not put out a statement preaching that your values are about caring about other people. Justice for Mam’Fekile and the other human rights defenders who have been gunned down trying to protect their children, families and communities from unbridled minining.
