Another way to go? More health professionals should talk and educate the public about women’s health. We need to de-stigmatize topics like menstruation, menopause, pregnancy, birth control, etc. and other areas of women’s health.

Please join us online or in-person at the ANU on November the 13th for a seminar by Prof. June Oscar AO, Dr. Janet Hunt, Dr. Elise Klein, and Dr. Zoe Staines. Centring First Nation's Care: 'The seminar will specifically report on recent research conducted with over 100 First Nations women across Australia to understand their experiences and interpretations of care. The research shows that mainstream definitions of care are limited compared to the vast and complex ways care is performed and understood by First Nations women. This means that the expansive care work that First Nations women do goes unrecognised, uncompensated or misunderstood, leading to the marginalisation of this crucial work and the women who do it. This research underlines the importance of a new approach to supporting First Nations women, in which their voices, ideas and needs are central, and where care is placed at the heart. This is different to just “fitting” First Nations care into various settler models, policies and measures already in circulation.' https://lnkd.in/ebXZVru5

This year Women in Data® are focusing on Women's Safety in the UK. Yesterday, we saw the stark realities of the violence many women still face in their day-to-day lives. WiD have published their preliminary findings (link in comments). It's difficult reading, but an important step forward to enable a future where women and girls live without fear. ---- Happy International Women's Day.
