"How AI is Shaping a More Inclusive Future in Design" AI is revolutionizing accessibility in design, helping us create more inclusive experiences for everyone. From enhancing inclusive design for people with disabilities to automating accessibility testing, AI-powered tools are empowering designers to break down barriers and build products that cater to a wider audience. I know AI is still learning, but if we teach it correctly, it can help immensely. However, keep in mind: AI-powered accessibility testing can’t replace real user testing. Each user’s needs and psychology are unique, and only human feedback can fully capture those nuances. Here’s how AI is making a difference: 1. Inclusive Design: AI assists in crafting designs for users with visual, auditory, and cognitive disabilities, improving overall user experience. 2. Accessibility Testing: AI tools speed up testing, making it easier to identify and address accessibility issues quickly. What are your thoughts on using AI for accessible design? #InclusiveDesign #AIAccessibility #UXDesign #AccessibilityTesting #DigitalInclusion #AIInDesign #AccessibilityTools #DesignInnovation #InclusiveTech #UserExperience

Assistive Technology for Life is Taiwan’s largest annual event, held every March. It showcases daily necessities designed for people with disabilities and the elderly, with a focus on user experience and ease of use. This talk will explore how AI enhances accessibility for visually impaired individuals, significantly improving their quality of life and understanding of the world. Register 👉 https://lnkd.in/gdT2vHMQ #Accessibility #AI #visuallyimpaired #ux

🎉 Excited to share my recent HCI Project: AI Mood Shifter! ✨ As part of an inspiring team effort we Subin Edward, Zoe Zhang, Yihang, & Esther designed an AI Mood Shifter, a thought-provoking exploration of how AI can recognize emotions? 💭 🎯 The Theme: “The Playful and Provocative Elements of AI” which sparked our idea to design a solution that highlights both the potential benefits and limitations of AI in fostering emotional well-being. 💡 Our Process: We explored how AI could recognize emotions and provide personalized support to uplift moods. Our approach was deeply rooted in qualitative research and user-centered design: 📋 Conducted Interviews and Surveys to gather insights about emotional states and needs of people. 🔍 Performed thematic analysis to identify key patterns in the responses. 🎨 Used tools like Figma, FigJam, and Moodboards to collaboratively design an intuitive and engaging user interface. 🌟 What Makes It Unique: The AI Mood Shifter offers: ✅ Personalized solutions like mood-boosting music, affirmations, mindfulness and tailored activities. ✅ Ethical considerations to ensure user privacy and inclusivity. However, we also explored its limitations, like over-reliance on AI and the challenge of interpreting complex human emotions. 🚀 What I Learned: This project was not just about designing an app but also about critically examining how AI can provoke essential conversations around ethics, usability, and emotional impact. I am thankful to our professor Jon Back for giving us this innovative opportunity. Collaborating with my teammates was an incredible experience, and I'm proud of what we accomplished together. #AIMoodShifter #ProvocativeAI #AI #mentalwellness #teamwork #design #uxui #designresearch #Figma #ThematicAnalysis #UserResearch #Evaluation #project #team #collaboration #Interactiondesign #CriticalDesign #UppsalaUniversity

Today is day 1 of Seattle Interactive Conference! Starting the day with a presentation on the humanity within AI and how it effects the role of the product designer. Hua L. Spoke about the opportunities AI provides us in efficiency, and the still-necessary human inputs. “The experience of AI itself needs designers.” It sparked a full room discussion around what parts of our practice should ethically be done by AI (ex. Maybe prototyping, maybe some interaction designs) and which parts should remain sacred (IMHO UX research). We also discussed the challenge of bringing AI up to leadership in a practical and healthy space. There was a lot of shared fear of saying “AI” in the workplace without sounding like you’re automating someone out of their role. How do we keep AI conversations open and creative without risking our team members? Penny for your thoughts?

I just completed this masterclass here are thoughts I found interesting A quote from this MasterClass : "As a designer the challenge is going to be about providing human Value" "As human user researchers, we must elevate our focus from merely identifying problems to exploring solutions that add value and drive improvement. This involves asking strategic questions that delve into the potential for innovation and enhancement, beyond surface-level usability concerns. Find ways to frame inquiries that uncover deeper insights, emphasizing the importance of designing for better outcomes rather than settling for functional adequacy. This forward-thinking approach represents the future of user research." Food for thoughts : What is the cost and benefit of a particular action?" This question calls for embedding human values into AI systems, prioritizing ethical considerations over mere financial gain or attention metrics. For instance, the societal impact of someone spending hours clicking on Facebook rather than engaging with their job, family, or community is profound—despite the profits it generates. The ripple effects on individual well-being and the global village are significant. By fostering discussions centered on these broader implications, we can guide AI development to align with values that enhance collective progress and meaningful human connections.

❝ Trust is a must ❞ This is not just a phrase; it’s a principle that guides everything we do at Nexus Dupla. Without trust, collaboration weakens, innovation slows, and progress becomes more challenging. Trust isn’t something you earn—it’s something you give from the very start. It’s the foundation for building anything meaningful. ↠ At Nexus Dupla, we believe everything begins with trust: in ourselves, in others, and in what we are building ethically together. ↠ At Nexus Dupla, we believe trust is the bridge to the extraordinary. #NexusDupla #Trust #Innovation #Collaboration #AI #HumanConnection #Creatividad #ChatGPT #OpenAI #UX #creativity #AI #artificialintelligence #trust #empathy #colaboracion #teamwork #humanity #ethic

An insightful video by Jakob Nielsen on UX Tigers!! I completely agree with Jakob Nielsen's perspective. Universities are not prioritising or encouraging students to focus on AI research. They are focusing on abstract topics instead of practical research that impacts the real world. AI is undeniably the future, and as UX professionals, we must adapt to not just using AI but designing human-centric experiences for it. The gap between HCI research and AI development needs to close, and we must take an active role in shaping how AI interacts with users. It’s time we focus on designing for AI, not just with AI tools! #AI #UXDesign #HCI #Innovation #DesignForAI #FutureOfTechnology Watch the full video here: https://lnkd.in/gNEuKpCY

Prediction: The field of human-computer #InteractionDesign is about to boom. #AI is revolutionizing technology—and how we live—at an unprecedented scale. Historically, big shifts in how we interact with technology (think mouse and keyboard, mobile) fueled a surge in UX/UI design. Why? Because design helps humans make sense of and leverage innovation. Today, AI is an insanely powerful tool. Yet for many, it feels foreign, overwhelming, and hard to understand. Designers will lead the charge to bridge this gap—using empathy, iteration, and by centering the #human. Far from being replaced by AI, designers will see their roles expand.
