In the U.S., racially motivated mass shootings devastate communities, while in Ukraine, a devastating war has displaced millions. Closer to home in Pakistan, sectarian violence in places like Parachinar claims the lives, deepening divisions within communities bound by shared beliefs. These tragedies are not just isolated events—they are part of a global narrative of division and violence. 🌍 Standing for Peace and Justice 🇵🇸 In the face of escalating violence and injustice, we must continue to raise our voices for those who suffer the most. The genocide in Gaza persists despite global concerns and condemnation. Palestinians are not expendable people—this is a matter of humanity, not just politics. Those responsible for the crimes against the Palestinian people must be held accountable. Bangladesh, as always, stands in solidarity with the Palestinian people, urging the global community to work towards an immediate ceasefire and ensure the protection of innocent lives, especially women and children. At the same time, we must push for the implementation of a two-state solution that promises long-term peace in the Middle East. It is not just a regional issue, but a global call for justice. 🌍✌️ Additionally, I want to take a moment to thank Professor Muhammad Yunus for his unwavering commitment to peace and global justice. What dose peace mean to you? From education to the arts, social justice to sports, health to the environment, and neighborhood issues to service for others, there are countless paths toward building peace. For me, peace holds a deeper significance. It means seeing the people in Sudan, Yemen, and everywhere return to their homes, living in security, stability, and peace of mind. It means witnessing Palestinians residing in their homeland—on their ancestral land—without foreign occupation. A vision where they live with dignity, farm their land, harvest their olives, and preserve their identity. True peace is freedom from occupation, humiliation, imprisonment, collective punishment, refugee camps, torture, violence, and genocide. Will we allow our children to grow up in a world that turns a blind eye to oppression? Will we leave future generations in fear, uncertainty, and injustice?
