Wine Offers at Supermarkets - For Carrefour, as for Costco and Tesco and every other major general retailer, wine is, and will always be, just one of the products in which they trade Wine will sometimes sold without profit or at a small loss to reduce stock or attract customers. Whether you are offering soda pop, toilet paper or wine, what matters is the price you have persuaded your target customers that they are worth #wine #wines #winebusiness #wineindustry #winemarket #value #price #supermarket #retail #commodities #categories #offers #discounts #valuecreation #valueperception

When you have a new arrival or a product launch, lean on impulse buyers. … and maybe throw on a limited-time offer if you really want to seal the deal. New arrivals and product launches are SURPRISINGLY underutilized in the wine industry, imo. I can’t tell you how many wineries I’ve talked with who have new wines or experiences on their website that they have NEVER told their subscribers about. Very few of your customers will visit your website on their own to seek out your wines - send a new arrival or product launch email campaign to get more awareness and ultimately, more ecommerce! Europe was the most recognised region in the ranking with 34 brands on the list, with France again the most represented country, it was home to more than a quarter of the brands. South Africa’s Kanonkop was named the highest climber and Most Admired Wine Brand in Africa & Middle East while US-based Jackson Family Wines was named the Most Admired Wine Brand in North America having re-entered the ranking this year. Ever been tricked by a wine's price tag? This classic stunt by Aldi recently left many wine enthusiasts stunned 😉 By creating a fictitious wine merchant 'Justin Youraldi', they invited attendees at the prestigious Royal International Horse Show to sample what they believed were high-end wines from exclusive vineyards. In truth, they were tasting Aldi's own award-winning wines, some priced as low as £4.99! Research by Aldi UK revealed that 43% of people enjoy surprising friends with a bargain wine and 38% believe more expensive wines are overrated. As well as being quite funny, the stunt aligned perfectly with these findings while emphasising Aldi's commitment to providing quality at affordable prices. As for the results? An impressive 23% increase in wine sales compared to the previous summer. BTW, my favourite cheap wine is called Clearsprings, a South African Sauvignon Blanc available in Sainsbury's for only £5.80! Please let me know if you have a favourite, I'm always interested in a bargain 🙂 #Aldi #MarketingStrategy #Wine

Ever found yourself in a Coles or Woolies (now Endeavour) bottle shop and marvelled at the massive range of wine under $30? At Vino Cammino, precisely 0 bottles from our range retail under $30. We think much of the difference is driven by ownership. Thanks to an excellent resource maintained by The Real Review (link in comments), we know that that there are over 400 wine brands owned by supermarkets and other large corporate groups in Australia. Endeavour alone own 227. Coles have 84. And each of those brands have their own range of bottles, so it’s likely that thousands of bottles on big brand Australian bottle shop shelves are owned by a small handful of companies (but of course, you won’t read about it on the labels). So, how do you think those companies encourage (or make) decisions in the production of those wines? How would they prioritise cost, durability, and volume against sustainability, quality and complexity of flavour? Are they crafting a wine to offer the best expression of grape and place or something calculated at the last quarterly meeting of the finance, analytics and marketing teams? Of course, some nice wines are made at low price points. It's just hard to find them in a tidal wave of blandness disguised by clever labels. All of the wines at Vino Cammino have one owner: it’s the winemaker and their family. The pride they take in their vineyards and the wine they send into the world, their role as custodians for future generations, and honouring the memory of generations before them mean every decision they make is designed to create the finest product possible. We’re proud to support their efforts and reckon they are worth every dollar. Life’s too short to drink boring supermarket wine. #whoownsyourwine #therealreview #duopoly #artisanwine

Some of Australia’s finest on its way to China. Congratulations to Jane Richards and the team at Eight at the Gate Wines with the first load of their stunning wine on its way this week to eager consumers in China. Eight at the Gate is an Australian export success story, and it’s not hard to see why once you try their award winning wine. Grown in the rich terra rossa soils around Wrattonbully on South Australia’s famed Limestone Coast, the Cabernet Sauvignon, Shiraz, and Chardonnay grapes are prized by many of Australia’s wine producers for inclusion in premium multi-regional blends. This is a great example of what I bang on about all the time. No matter the marketing, brand building, or genius behind the market entry strategy, at the end of the day, it’s about the product. Eight at the Gate wine stands out and demands attention. Whether you’re in China or Australia, do yourself a favour and get your hands on some. You’ll soon find out what all the fuss is about. #chinamarket #marketentry #wine #aussiewine #Australianwine ------------------------------------------- I'm Iain Langridge 毅安 and I use my experience in China to launch and grow premium consumer brands.
