In January, I was invited to speak at the IMPACT Sustainability Travel & Tourism Conference in Destination Greater Victoria Here are the top soundbites from my 'Dose of Innovation' presentation on how DMOs can elevate their annual events and unleash the power of regeneration within their organizations and across their ecosystems. The framework I presented was designed around regenerative event principles. It's based on the comprehensive learnings I received from the Global Destination Sustainability Movement (GDS-Movement) Regenerative Destination Management Course. I intend to kick-start this journey for many DMOs who might feel stuck as to where to start on this vast subject. Along with this video, I've released part 1 of a two-part blog series that will provide more actionable takeaways to assist with this work—link in the comments. We all have to start somewhere; this approach recognizes that every destination is different. If we can lean into the DNA of our place to start this essential work, we can find common ground within our internal teams and wider ecosystems and learn together to bring about positive change. This year, I am delighted to share that we are collaborating with Destination Canada to offer a unique Webinar on September 12, entitled "Rethinking Experience Development in Canada's Destinations". I am especially delighted to be working not only with the Destination Dialogues team at Destination Canada, but will also be hosting and facilitating two remarkable Canadians in this webinar, who have created legendary and award-winning regenerative visitor experiences. The webinar, open across the country, will involve a short keynote address by myself including a couple of case studies about experience development, and then a panel discussion with our two experience hosts - Lourdes Still, from Masagana Flower Farm in south-eastern Manitoba; and Dave Schonberger, with Ottercreek Woodworks in southern Ontario.
