How do you like your eggs in the morning? And other key questions! One of the things about personalising care is making sure it respects the routines and habits of a person. Sometimes, we have to tweak these but at other times we can keep the same habits. Care is often wrongly driven by what is the most practical, and sometimes the most convienient. It can also be driven by time pressures - perhaps it's important to get a wash done first, rather than a cup of tea, because drinking tea can be done at leisure later, but eats up 20 minutes of a visit if done first. In all these things there is a balance to be had. We try very hard to help people to support the routines they have had over a lifetime. This can be especially valuable where there are elements of memory loss and older routines are well embedded and allow people to continue to function for longer. We strive to always provide responsive, proactive care that meets the needs of the people who use it. We offer free, no obligation chats and advice and would be delighted to have a chat if you are not sure about what help is available or how to organise it. You can contact me on 0208 650 7264.

We often hear about self-care like it's all bubble baths and face masks, right? 🛁💆♀️ But sometimes, self-care doesn't really feel like "care" in the way we'd expect. There are days when self-care means forcing ourselves to exercise when we'd rather lounge on the couch, or meal prepping instead of opting for fast food. 🏋️♀️🥗 It might even mean making a tough decision that benefits us in the long run, even if it's super uncomfortable at the moment. 🤔 Don't get me wrong, pampering is great, but self-care can also look like doing the laundry, setting boundaries, or tackling that daunting task you've been avoiding. 🧺🚫📋 So, next time you're dreading something but know it's good for you, remember: that's self-care too. 💖

As parents, keeping our little ones healthy is a top priority. Teaching them the importance of handwashing is a simple yet powerful way to achieve this! Here are some tips to make handwashing a fun and effective part of their daily routine: 1. Explain the "Why" Behind Handwashing Talk to your kids about those tiny, sneaky germs. Explain how they can make us sick and how washing hands with soap and water can effectively eliminate them. 2. Show Them How it's Done Get down to their level and demonstrate the proper handwashing technique: wet hands, apply soap, scrub all areas (palms, back of hands, fingers, nails), rinse, and dry! 3. Make it a Song and Dance Instead of counting, turn handwashing into a fun activity! Sing the "Happy Birthday" song twice or pick a fun song that lasts at least 20 seconds. This helps them scrub for the recommended time. 4. Set Specific Times Make handwashing a regular habit by reminding them at specific times throughout the day – before meals, after using the bathroom, after playing outside, and whenever their hands get visibly dirty. 5. Make it Fun! Turn handwashing into a family activity! Use colorful soaps, stickers, or a chart to track and reward regular handwashing. Remember, consistency is key! The more you make handwashing a fun and regular part of your child's day, the more likely they are to adopt this healthy habit for life. How I Win the Day Before Breakfast? Here's a glimpse of my daily routine that keeps me energized and ready to tackle each day: ✅ Early Riser: My day kicks off at 5 am, embracing the quiet of the early morning. ✅ Health First: I begin with a warm ajwain saunf pani, paired with my medicine, then almonds and walnut, and green tea, all at a gap of 30 minutes—my secret to a great start! ✅ Family Time: Preparing my daughter for school ensures we spend quality time together amidst our busy schedules. ✅ Nourishment Matters: I pack nutritious lunch and fruits, making sure she’s fueled for the day. ✅ School Run: Dropping her to the bus is our little morning ritual. ✅ Stay Active: A 30 minute walk and a 20 minute workout keep me fit and revitalized. Maintaining this routine helps me stay grounded and productive. How do you start your day?

“I just want to feel energised and organised” These were the exact words of my most recent client Kim* (changed for discretion). She was drowning in overwhelm with her family life and a job in the NHS. We worked on a 5 week turnaround project. 1. Nutrition for energy with easy family meals (teenage son sleeping better and being less moody). 2. Designated times for food shopping. (All guilt removed for not being more organised) 3. Built in self care time she’d never had before (everything else came first before; negates resentment building up). 4. Mini decluttting project to feel inspired by her bedroom and create a space of calm and clarity. 5. A lifestyle roadmap to keep her on track. We all know what we want but sometimes it’s damn hard to make the start and then sustain it. I put nutrition at the heart of all my clients journeys. It’s the coal that keeps the fire alight and let’s our brains and bodies drive us forward. I invited Kim over for a mini lunch celebration for our last session and seeing that shiny, energised look in her eyes was pure magic. We are that frog together and it didn’t taste so bad after all. 🐸
