About a month ago, during a Rotary Club of Global Impact meeting, my friend, business partner, and mentor, Martin Christopher Mongiello, Founding member and First President of our club, surprised me by nominating me for the club presidency for 2026–2027. With all my commitments, taking on this role seemed daunting. However, a quote by George Addair struck me: "Everything you've ever wanted is on the other side of fear." This inspired me to embrace the opportunity. As a founding member and Digital Image Public Officer for the club, I've witnessed the potential impact of stepping into this leadership role. It became clear that accepting this challenge was the right choice. With my campaign in full swing, I outlined a vision focusing on boosting revenue, fostering business development, and investing in AI-driven marketing to expand globally. Community service remains central, and I’m eager to enhance our involvement. In the election, remarkable candidates Brittini Flatley and Shanker Damodaran stood alongside me. Their dedication and passion reflect the spirit of service we cherish. The votes were finalized on November 11th, and during our meeting the next day, I was honored to be announced as President of the Rotary Club of Global Impact for the 2026–2027 term. This moment was both humbling and exhilarating. It's a privilege to serve such a dynamic community. As I step into this role, I'm committed to our club’s financial independence and the development of strategies to empower our members. Embracing cutting-edge technology, especially AI-driven marketing, will be pivotal in extending our reach. 🏔 A king, a boulder and a Zen story: Our Chamber’s mission in 2025 🏔 I recently came across a Zen story that resonates with me... It's about a king who noticed his people growing complacent. To teach them a lesson, he placed a massive boulder on the main road, blocking the city’s entrance. As he watched, people approached the boulder, only to give up after little effort. Days passed until a lone peasant came along. Unlike the others, he didn’t walk away. He kept trying until an idea sparked. He found a sturdy branch in the woods and used it as a lever to move the rock. This story is a powerful reminder of how we can lead our communities. Challenges can often seem like obstacles too big to move. It’s easy to turn a blind eye or get stuck in endless debates. Yet, like the peasant, all it takes is a handful of inspired individuals ready to tackle problems with fresh perspectives and a willingness to collaborate…and maybe even compromise. As we gear up for our Annual Luncheon, I’m inspired by this story and its lessons. As a Chamber, we are uniquely positioned to advocate for and support our businesses, while seeking creative solutions for ongoing issues impeding growth in our community. I’m excited about the positive changes we’ll bring in 2025. Let's be the ones who find solutions, leverage our collective strengths and clear the path to progress. Together, we can achieve lasting growth and transformative community building. Working with a small staff often means juggling countless roles. I’ll admit — I set high expectations for myself and my team. But together, we grew membership, programs, fundraising, sponsorships, visibility, and organizational assets. As a CEO and C-Suite leader, I made it a priority to continuously improve operations, outcomes, and relationships. Professional and trade associations became invaluable sources of education and connection for me, offering peer networks that understood the unique challenges I faced. Yes, attending these meetings took time and effort, and some thought I was crazy for committing to it.
