Over the next 12 months we have the opportunity to mobilize unprecedented ocean action. The last two years have seen historic agreements: to commit to protect and restore 30% of the ocean and coastal areas by 2030; to manage and protect Biodiversity Beyond National Jurisdiction (BBNJ) also widely known as the High Seas Treaty; to end harmful fisheries subsidies; to develop a Global Plastics Treaty; and to place the ocean in the main domain of UN Climate Conferences and as a priority of the G20 agenda through the Oceans 20. Ocean science is also receiving greater attention than ever thanks to the UN Decade of Ocean Science for Sustainable Development and the Vision 2030. Now it is time to work together to maximize the impact of these achievements.

The effects of climate change are becoming more intense and far-reaching. If we continue to ignore this crisis, the harsh reality is that we will bear the full brunt of the consequences ourselves. Now is the time to take decisive action, or face a future defined by the suffering and instability we failed to prevent.

We can all band together to help contribute to the solution at scale: 1. Revise companies policies to allow WFH as much as possible to reduce carbon emission 2. Help reduce litter and choose lower carbon-intensive materials for packaging to help reduce carbon emission 3. Advocate and encourage less meat-heavy meals; go vegetarian - it's better for your health and to help reduce carbon emission. Dear Friends of the #Planet, this disturbing revelation from the World Economic Forum is a wake-up call to each one of us to sit back and reflect if we are really doing enough as members of the human family to #makepeacewithnature as powerfully echoed by the United Nations Environment Programme Finance Initiative (UNEP FI) Chief Inger Andersen . This powerful revelation from the Economic Space is a call to duty to world leaders to ensure that climate management, mitigation and adaptation is at the negotiating table in all spheres of human life as proposed by the UNFCCC UN . At this point, I guess the whole world can agree that what used to be #globalwarming is now #global crisis and what used to be #climatechange is now a climate crisis. In the name of #humanity, let us remember that any attack on #Nature is an attack on global #economy and indeed on all of us. We are the change we need. #ClimateAction United Nations SDG 13.

Climate change significantly threatens ocean biodiversity, with rising sea temperatures, ocean acidification, and altered current patterns affecting marine ecosystems profoundly. Warmer oceans lead to coral bleaching, causing the death of coral reefs, which are critical habitats for countless marine species. Acidification from absorbed CO₂ also reduces calcification rates in shellfish and coral, weakening these species' ability to survive and grow. The loss of biodiversity disrupts food webs and fisheries, potentially leading to a collapse of local fishing economies that rely on a stable marine environment. In addition, degraded ecosystems are less capable of storing carbon, further accelerating climate change. Without intervention, these changes may result in the loss of marine biodiversity on a massive scale, with cascading effects on global food security and coastal protection

This eye opening video from the World Economic Forum highlights the urgent need to tackle environmental challenges like coral bleaching and climate change. As a global impact designer, I’m dedicated to rethinking how we build and design to protect and regenerate our natural ecosystems. In my work, I repurpose plastic waste through 3D printing for furniture, architectural elements, and exhibitions that showcase sustainable design possibilities. Through Phygital and AR experiences—as seen in installations like Flowniversum—I aim to immerse audiences in eco-innovation, showing how we can shift toward materials that absorb CO2 instead of producing it. Guided by a mission to replace harmful materials with organic, sustainable alternatives, I am currently developing an ESG marketplace to connect builders, architects, and designers with materials that reduce environmental impact. As I prepare for the Metamorphosis exhibition at the Venice Biennale, launch The Y Material Wellness hotel brand, and finalize the marketplace, I’m engaging with collaborators and potential sponsors who share this vision.
