🌍 Last week, we had the opportunity to be part of the esteemed #SmartManufacturingSummit by Global Industrie in Aichi, Japan. As part of Team Europe, alongside pioneers like Materia Nova, I-care Group and IONICS Surface Technologies under the AWEX banner, we stood united with 10 forward-thinking #EU #digital enterprises. This summit was not just an event; it was a confluence of ideas, innovation, and inspiration. We delved deep into key themes that are shaping our industry's future - Automation, Advanced Technology and Manufacturing, New Energies, and Sustainable Manufacturing. Our presence at the summit was a testament to our commitment to these crucial areas, showcasing our capabilities and exploring new horizons in smart manufacturing. Being among such an illustrious gathering, we were filled with pride to represent not just PEPITe but also the spirit of innovation that drives us. It was a reaffirmation of our place in the global manufacturing ecosystem and our contribution to shaping a sustainable, technologically advanced future. #Fairfax County EDA Week in Korea (4/29 ~ 5/3) - Day 5 #FCEDA Roundtable meeting with Korean clean-tech companies and Korea Environmental Industry Association (KEIA)’s member companies, in partnership with Korea Environmental Industry Association. Korean clean-tech companies in Water, Waste, Air and Energy sectors are expanding their business to the global market and the US market is the hub of the global clean-tech industry. FCEDA visited LG Sciencepark, which promotes research, accelerates company growth and creates customer experience innovations. LG Sciencepark has continued grow as the R&D hub of LG Group. It is Korea’s largest R&D complex with more than 1 million square meters of floor space (that’s the equivalent of 152 football pitches!) and some 20,000 people working together, from 8 LG affiliate companies as well as its partner firms and startups Brian Han, Director, International Business Investment of Fairfax County EDA is visiting Korea this week and meeting with major Korean enterprises, SMEs and startups to discuss their business expansion to the US B2G, B2B and B2C market, and setting up their US operation in Fairfax County. #FCEDA #LGSciencepark #KEIA #CleanTech

It was inspiring to see the industry pushing boundaries, yet the huge potential of public grants for exactly such innovations remains largely untouched. Programs like the EIC Accelerator, German Forschungszulage, and many others could all be used more effectively to further accelerate the speed and scale of these groundbreaking developments.
