Life Lesson from NFL Week 1: To Make History, You Have to PAY ATTENTION!
Tom Brady Calls Out Dallas Head Coach Mike McCarthy’s Time Management Blunder Erasing Historic 66-yard Kick
Dallas kicker Brandon Aubrey drilled what would have been an NFL record-tying 66-yard FG as the first half expired. AMAZING, but we won’t see it in the record books because the kick came one second too late, drawing a delay of game penalty. Brady anticipated the mistake, saying “delay of game” before the kick, and questioning why Dallas didn’t call a timeout, especially since they had two remaining. The reason was clear: McCarthy and his staff simply lost focus in the moment, not paying attention, which cost Dallas the historic field goal. The five-yard penalty forced McCarthy to pull Aubrey, as the kick was now too far at 71 yards. Maybe next time McCarthy will pay attention, use his timeouts wisely, and give his kicker another shot at making NFL history.
Life Lesson: Don’t be like Mike McCarthy – Always pay attention when it matters to ensure team success.
