Do you know how hard it is for online merchants to convert someone looking at their website into a buyer? Most of us don’t think much about it, but it’s top of mind for the merchants who are lucky if people who visit their website buy something. My team and I did some research in to understanding how global merchants are thinking about increasing these crucial conversion rates. We find that across countries, they are focused on creating a better user experience in the checkout process by adding technologies that make it easier and faster for consumers to complete purchases. This can help them to avoid issues like abandoned carts at the “make or break” point of checkout, where consumers may be getting annoyed with outdated or cumbersome processes.
