How can we create a circular economy? 🤔 We all know that less “take, make, waste” and more “reduce, reuse, recycle” would be good for all of us – and the environment. But what concrete steps can we take to help to create a circular economy? At Sappi, making what we should, not just what we can – from woodfibre-based renewable resources – is central to how we run our business. So, we asked some of our colleagues to tell us what was key to them in creating a circular economy. What is key for you? #CircularEconomy #Sustainability #sappi

🌞🔄 The Importance of Recycling Solar Panels 🌍♻️ You are looking at where the first life of a solar panel ends here at OKON RECYCLING, but where a second life for it's materials begins! As solar energy grows, we must address what happens to solar panels at their end-of-life. Recycling is essential because: 1. Resource Recovery: Valuable materials like silicon and silver can be reclaimed, reducing the need for new resources. 2. Waste Reduction: Proper recycling prevents hazardous waste and protects our ecosystems. 3. Circular Economy: Recycling promotes sustainable practices and innovation while lowering carbon footprints. Let’s advocate for effective recycling programs to ensure a sustainable future with solar energy! #SolarEnergy #Sustainability #Recycling #CircularEconomy #RenewableEnergy Louis Okon Ryan Bredow Kyle Austin Nikki Houillion Justin Bell Brandon Sommerfeld

Gjenkraft AS are thrilled to announce the signing of a framework agreement with Bergen Spesial Transport AS for the sustainable recycling of wind turbine blades. From now on, Bergen Spesial Transport AS will deliver all their wind blade waste for recycling at our facility. This significant milestone helps establish a value chain in Norway, Sweden, and Finland, securing blade feedstock for the next three years. Our ambitions lead us to scale our production in Høyanger, aiming for a capacity of 1000 tons per year by 2025 with new machinery. This will enable Bergen Spesial Transport AS to provide only sustainable solutions for wind blades, eliminating landfill and incineration options. We are excited to take this major step forward in our mission to create a green future. #Sustainability #WindTurbineRecycling #Innovation #Gjenkraft

Carbon Rivers had an exciting time at this year’s ACI European Wind Blade Recycling Summit in Copenhagen, Denmark! It was a productive two days of networking and discussing the latest developments in wind turbine blade recycling across Europe and the biggest challenges and opportunities for decommissioned wind blades. During one of the conference panels, Carbon Rivers’ Chief Strategy Officer, David Morgan, had the opportunity to speak about the company’s glass fiber reclamation technology. David shared how Carbon Rivers’ recovery process has the ability to transform materials into sustainable, recyclable composites and provide a perpetual glass fiber lifecycle – ultimately creating a composite circular economy for several types of global industries, including wind.
