Designed with the intention of providing patients in Southwest Michigan with local advanced care, the cancer center is part of a long history of the area’s dedication to developing business, health care, education and technology. At the building’s ribbon-cutting ceremony, Ascension Borgess President Peter Bergmann stated, “When [the Ascension Borgess team looked at] where can we put this, we looked at ideas of access. And what’s the most important thing when you have cancer: You don’t feel well, and you want to have the best access [to care] that you can easily to get to.
