Installation of BirdVision(c) has been successfully completed today at WTG 11. WTG 12 will follow tomorrow. Even though we have a permission of unlimited operation, we took BirdVision(c) to shout down the WTGs in case of a red- or black kite passing close to the WTG. A black kite is breeding close to the WTGs and this system reduces the risk of a collision with the WTG significantly, not only for the black kite. Our goal is to reconcile species protection and the production of renewable energies.

Workshop on ammonia system safety in a Norwegian maritime fuel value chain 🛥️💧 Last week we hosted a workshop on ammonia system safety in Florø. The Norwegian maritime sector has a stated goal of reducing their climate emissions with 50% by 2030. One solution that has gained momentum is the use of ammonia as fuel. During the workshop we discussed ammonia system safety, applied on the Norwegian maritime fuel chain, with the ammonia bunkering site as the core system under study. Key take aways from the workshop is ✅ the need for collaboration, ✅ focus on standardisation and ✅ a clear definition of roles and responsibilities in the value chains.   The workshop was organized within the research project MaritimeNH3 led by SINTEF Energy Research AS, a project founded by the Green Plattform by Norges forskningsråd. This competence-building project is part of industry project Ammonia Fuel Bunkering Network (AFBN), led by AZANE Fuel Solutions, where Ocean Hyway Cluster has been one of the partners from the start. Developments in Sweden 🙌: ♻️ The County Administrative Board of Gotland has recommended that the Swedish Government approve the Aurora offshore wind farm, developed by OX2 and Ingka Investments, under the Act governing Sweden’s exclusive economic zone. 🌟 If approved, the first phase of the 5.5 GW project could be operational by 2030, delivering over 6 TWh annually to southern Sweden. Located in the Baltic Sea, the entire wind farm is expected to produce up to 24 TWh annually by 2035. ⚡️ The project also aims to enhance regional surveillance, promote biodiversity through artificial reefs, and explore large-scale mussel farming. 🌍 OX2 and Ingka Investments are also developing other offshore wind projects in Sweden and Finland. #offshorewind #renewableenergy #windenergy

#BiogestInternational supplies again floating BSK-Turbines to France In early 2024, Biogest International GmbH delivered three (3) #BSKTurbines with a diameter of 1750 mm to France again. The wastewater lagoon near Mayenne will be put in operation soon. BSK-Turbines have an outperforming efficiency of up to 2.80 kgO2/kWh (4.50 lbsO2/hph) and are therefore considered as the most efficient surface aerators on the market.   This high efficiency allows us: - in new projects, to improve energy consumption and OPEX significantly and - in projects of retrofit or extension, to provide additional aeration capacity without any change in energy consumption. The BSK-Turbine is European origin and could be a key-element of our customers #CSR strategy to reduce the companies carbon footprint.   The delivered BSK-Turbines are installed on special floating platforms and can therefore adapt to the fluctuating water level. The tasks of aeration and stirring are carried out by just one unit with the highest possible efficiency. The BSK-Turbine is characterized by excellent mixing performance even used in deep aeration tanks up to 5,50m. The system is nearly maintenance-free and guarantees a trouble-free operation for decades without loss of efficiency. Together with our local partner Atlantique Industrie this project marks an important milestone in our meanwhile 8-year cooperation history.

The Danish government yesterday announced a proposed investment of more than $1 billion in subsidies to incentivise biochar production while developing 140,000 hectares of carbon-rich lowland soils and creating 250,000 hectares of new forest.
