As national patent offices deal with more #machinelearning and #AI based inventions some interesting divergences in approaches are becoming apparent. An article which I wrote in IAM with Marie-Claude Pellegrini and Hendrik Bahre looks at this in more detail and how the approach differs in the UK, Germany and France.

Well done Iprova and Julian Nolan for taking an active role in this time of disruptive innovation and where AI is here to stay and a tool we need to control and make best possible use of to drive innovation as the speed of knowledge acquisition has dramatically increased. #innovation #patents #artificialintelligence
Yesterday Julian Nolan joined industry experts at the 36th session of the World Intellectual Property Organization – WIPO Standing Committee on the Law of Patents to discuss the intersection of patents and AI. Some key takeaways from the event: AI-assisted invention is no longer a future possibility – it’s happening now across multiple sectors, including physical sciences and chemistry. We’ve seen dramatic improvements in efficiency and performance as AI continues to support engineers and scientists in creating new inventions. Recent guidelines from the USPTO offer a good framework for how patent offices globally adapt to the rise of AI in innovation, ensuring human contributions remain a vital part of the process. The future of invention is here, and it's driven by the incredible synergy of human ingenuity and AI. #AIInvention #PatentLaw #IP
