#India Imposes #Anti_Dumping_Duty on #Epichlorohydrin_Imports from China, Korea, Thailand India has imposed an anti-dumping duty of up to $557 per tonne on Epichlorohydrin, a key chemical used in the adhesive industry, imported from China, Korea, and Thailand. The duty, effective for five years, aims to protect domestic manufacturers from unfairly cheap imports. This move follows recommendations from the Directorate General of Trade Remedies (DGTR) after investigations showed that the chemical was being sold below normal prices, harming local industries. Anti-dumping duties are part of India's efforts to ensure fair trade practices and level the playing field for domestic producers, in line with WTO regulations. #India #AntiDumpingDuty #Epichlorohydrin #Trade #WTO #Chemicals #Manufacturing #FairTrade #Adhesives

Antimony market reacts calmly to China’s new export ban to the US The #antimony market reacted calmly to China's new export ban, as many industry participants already expected that supplies from China to the US would be ceased, sources told #Fastmarkets in the week ended Friday December 6. The expectation that supplies would cease moving from China to the US has been reported since China’s announcement of antimony export controls in August. China's Ministry of Commerce announced export restrictions for antimony, gallium, germanium, and ultra-hard materials to the US on Tuesday December 3, just one day after the White House slapped fresh curbs on the sale of high-bandwidth memory chips to China. Meanwhile, there have been no confirmed reports of any Chinese antimony exporter obtaining another dual-use items permit since the first such approval three weeks earlier. In the week started on November 18, one Chinese antimony seller obtained a dual-use export permit from the country’s Ministry of Commerce for a shipment to South Korea. To date, that is the only dual-use items permit for antimony issued by the Chinese authorities since export restrictions, Fastmarkets understands. 【NEWS UPDATE】🌍 Challenges in the Global Chemical Industry: A Growing Concern for China’s Exports 🌍 https://lnkd.in/gP-Aptnk Recently, the U.S. Department of Commerce announced preliminary anti-dumping rulings on epoxy resins imported from China, India, South Korea, Thailand, and Taiwan, with Chinese producers facing a staggering dumping margin of 354.99%. As China grapples with these trade barriers, the implications for its chemical industry are significant. 🚫💰 China's epoxy resin production capacity stands at 6 million tons, with another 1 million tons still under construction, yet domestic demand hovers around 1.7 million tons. This imbalance highlights the urgent need for export markets, and the imposition of anti-dumping measures could lead to a serious oversupply crisis. 📉 Over 40 types of chemical products from China are now subject to export restrictions, with countries like India, the U.S., and members of the EU implementing anti-dumping measures. This trend is expected to continue, putting immense pressure on China's chemical enterprises, which are facing the risk of reduced export revenue and potential capital chain disruptions. 📊🔗 From 1995 to 2023, China has seen 1,614 anti-dumping cases, making it the largest target of trade protectionism globally. Recent discussions in the U.S. about revoking China’s most-favored-nation status further exacerbate these challenges. About 48% of China's exports to the U.S. are already impacted by additional tariffs, with rates projected to exceed 60% for various sectors. ⚖️ As the landscape becomes increasingly hostile, Chinese companies may need to raise prices to cope with rising costs, which could stifle innovation and lead to a vicious cycle of competitive disadvantage. 🚀 The road ahead is fraught with challenges, but understanding these dynamics is crucial for navigating the global market landscape. Together, the industry must adapt and innovate to ensure sustainable growth and resilience amidst adversity. #ChemicalIndustry #GlobalTrade #AntiDumping #ChinaExports #Innovation #Sustainability #TradeChallenges #BusinessStrategy

In spite of India's robust #industry, #quality of products and services, we have not been able to get fair treatment on the #FTAs, #CEPAs, either in #Bilateral or #Multilateral versions. This is affecting our #exports. The #trade #balance continue to remain negative. We continue to open up our market more liberally. Our products continue to remain #noncompetitive vis a vis #China who manage to get better deal in spite of them heavily #subsidizing their #industry. This is not a fair trade. #India must negotiate from the position of our strengths and not to 'beg' for market entry!. We continue remain a poor #negotiator on #trade #treaties. We must revisit our existing FTAs and get an equal treatment. In fact, as a developing nation, India is entitled for #preferential treatment. Hope we get a fair deal this time. Best wishes! 🇮🇳🤝🇪🇺

As the recently signed #FTA between Serbia and China goes into effect it will be interesting to follow the effect on Serbian exports and businesses. The FTA involves reciprocal elimination of tariffs on 90% of tariff lines, with more than 60% taking immediate effect which for Serbia at the moment predominantly includes agricultural products such as fresh apples, blueberries, dried plums, jams, seeds and beef. This will very likely continue to other sectors such as renewable energy, healthcare and tourism. From a business perspective creating new distribution points of sale and green lights to enter new markets is always welcomed. One is hopeful that this will create a positive supply chain that will also benefit #SMEs in this #emerging market. Keen to know your thoughts on this and follow us for further updates. #trade #business #export #import
✨ Exciting news! ▪ The Serbia-China Free Trade Agreement (FTA), effective from July 1, grants Serbian firms preferential access to the Chinese market, covering over 20,000 products. Immediate tariff eliminations boost exports of fresh apples, blueberries, dried plums, jams, seeds, and beef. ▪ China, Serbia’s second largest trade partner in 2023, saw Serbian exports exceed €1.1 billion. The FTA aims to double this, benefiting sectors like agriculture, renewable energy, and healthcare. This agreement, along with Serbia’s strategic trade ties, offers customs-free access to markets with nearly 2.7 billion consumers. Government sources have indicated that the 11-month trade data between April 2023 and February 2024 showed an annual fall in exports of textiles. Terming exports as a function of demand and supply and dependent on several variables, sources attributed the fall in exports to slack international demand and geopolitical challenges like the Red Sea conflict. #textileexports #rmgexport #exportfall https://lnkd.in/ggDVGY4a
