Just a small reminder for all cricket fans -though I'm not the biggest cricket enthusiast, I watched the entire final match last year, and it’s a feeling I’ll never forget. As the final moments ticked away and we came up short, it felt as though I had lost something important. A year has passed since that day, and while the result didn’t unfold the way we had hoped, the journey was so much more than just a tournament. It united us, filled us with pride, and showed us the incredible power of sport—not just to entertain, but to inspire, uplift, and bring an entire nation together. To every player, coach, and fan who was part of this journey, this loss doesn’t define us—it fuels us. Like Rohit Sharma, who faced the heartbreak of the World Cup with tears in his eyes, yet channeled that pain into a renewed drive, leading his team to victory in the T20 World Cup. That is what true leadership looks like—embracing vulnerability, and rising again, stronger and more determined than ever before. He showed us all that it’s okay to feel. Tears are not a weakness; they are a sign of passion, care, and resilience. And today, as we celebrate #InternationalMen’sDay, we are reminded that strength is not about hiding our emotions, but about owning them and rising through adversity. We rise, we fight, and we stand by our team—win or lose. Never give up. Never let yourself be demotivated. In the face of challenges, we always come back stronger. Our journey isn’t defined by a single moment of loss, but by the way we rise together. #CricketJourney #TrueLeadership #InternationalMensDay #NeverGiveUp #RiseAgain #19November2023

Latest article for The Line explores the ongoing T20 World Cup in the U.S. and the Caribbean, and the potential commercial opportunities for North America if long-term strategic investments are made to promote the sport, written for a non-cricketing audience! 🇺🇸🇨🇦 “The story goes that cricket was brought to America by the British but lost prominence around the time of the Civil War, with baseball rising to become the country’s preferred bat-and-ball game. That might be changing. The rise of T20 cricket has opened new commercial opportunities for the sport, with the U.S. viewed as the next major economic market to conquer for cricketing investors” #cricket #cricketworldcup #t20cricket #USA #Canada

A little hard work & good planning goes a long way.
The latest dispatch from Head Curator Damian Hough in New York City: The ICC Men’s T20 World Cup pitches are in, and they’re looking great. Ten drop-in pitches were designed by Adelaide Oval Turf Solutions, constructed in Adelaide and shipped to Florida late last year, where Damian oversaw their development in warmer growing conditions working alongside US-based turf experts The LandTek Group, Inc.. Last week, they were transported to New York and installed as the centrepiece of a purpose-built venue in Nassau County International Cricket Stadium. Damian will remain in New York over the coming weeks as the venue takes shape, ensuring the deck is ready for some blockbuster T20 match ups, including India v Pakistan on 9 June. No more time-wasting in white-ball cricket! Starting June 2024, the Stop-Clock Rule will become a permanent fixture in all ODIs and T20Is, kicking off with T20 World Cup 2024. Here’s a quick rundown of how the Stop-Clock Rule will work: - Following the end of an over, the fielding team has 60 seconds to commence the next over. - An electronic clock, which will be visible within the stadium, will count down from 60. - Teams failing to meet this deadline will receive two warnings before incurring a five-run penalty for each subsequent delay. However, the clock, if already started, will be cancelled in instances of a new batter's arrival, drink breaks, treating injuries on the field, or other delays that the fielding team can't control. Do you think the new rule will effectively solve the long-standing issue of slow over-rates in cricket? 🏏🕖 #cricket #iccrules #stopclockrule #t20worldcup
