This is an interesting article. We use Fullbay at Apex Truck & Trailer Inc. to track repairs and vehicle history. I think it’s important for customers to know the benefits of consistently bringing a vehicle to the same repair facility for its PM/repair work. Having vehicle history does play a tremendous role in diagnosing some issues. Additionally, having OEM software and diagnostic troubleshooting procedures is a must.
With the increasing integration digital systems on vehicles, using data to understand a vehicle's fault history is now a natural part of the diagnostic process. As an example, “Reefer units today are much more sophisticated than in years past, and manufacturers are incorporating intelligence within the microprocessor to see when the unit is not operating as designed and then alerting technicians of the issue and, in many cases, what the specific cause of the problem is,” said Bob Roberts, leader of technical operations for Thermo King.
