Public spaces are being repurposed as tourist attractions, which disrupts local communities daily life. - Hotel Lobby Influence: The Catalan Socialist Party (PSC)'s longstanding connections with the hotel industry suggest that this announcement and potential ban could pave the way for new hotel licenses, benefiting the traditional hospitality sector. - Licensing Oversight Issues: The 2016 PEUAT Special Tourist Accommodation Plan issued licenses without adequate measures to ensure responsible management, regulatory frameworks and compliance with local regulations.
