How Business Owners Can Stay Ahead of Cyberthreats If you are wanting to set your business's future up for success & get a taste of the importance of cybersecurity before you invest into pentesting, vulnerability assessment, or anything else. Make sure to follow these steps! Before we jump into it...as promised, this week we will be diving into effective ways & practices into avoiding ever-evolving cyberthreats. Some things from our previous post (leveraging staff for cybersecurity) trickles down into this post, so make sure to check that post out. So jumping into it: - One of the most effective, and easiest ways to prevent cyberattacks is by regularly updating software throughout your infrastructure - Create strong password policies. Exm. • Make sure your staff uses passwords with at least 10-12 characters • Make sure there are uppercase letters, lowercase letters, symbols & numbers in their passwords • Make sure they don't use birthdays or names - Create backups frequently to be able to access your valuable & sensitive info, even if your data is breached If you want to learn more, make sure to book a free consultation call here: https://lnkd.in/gEWF78Np #cybersecurity #businesssecurity #dataprivacy

Vulnerability Assessment Benifits Earlier this week we went over the difference between a penetration test & a vulnerability assmt as well as an overview of what a vulnerability assmt is. Now in this post we will be diving into the benefits you can expect when performing a vulnerability assmt for your business. - Expect improved security - Able to make sure you're meeting your industry's strict security regulations - Customer sense of security & confidence when performing business with you - Learn more about your company's infrastructure Bonus: Since virtually every business is different this can help show hidden vulnerabilities you may have, which you can use to bring awareness to your staff & create custom policies to prevent attacks! The benefits of a V.A. typically surprises business owners. Especially for being an entry level, budget friendly service that doesn't require a huge commitment or investment of your time & resources... The benifits are high, but the consequences of not performing one can potentially be much worse. And since we understand that, we have lowered the barrier to entry for any business owner to kickstart their cybersecurity journey by offering free consultations. Benefits I Can Expect From a Penetration Test If you invest in a pentest, you can expect hackers to breach part of your infrastructure. And that may seem really bad or even counter intuitive...but these hackers are actually good & ethical hackers with good intent. These ethical hackers will breach your system to find hidden & unique vulnerabilities to patch them before malicious attackers can exploit them. Kind of like fighting fire with fire Also since a pentest is a more manual process & is heavily concentrated on one part of your infrastructure, unlike a basic scan, you can expect a few great benefits! Such as: • Finding deep vulnerabilities that may go unnoticed by a basic scan. • Finding vulnerabilities that are only unique to your specific industry. • Better compliance with industry specific security regulations. • Prevent irreversible & permanent damage to your company. • Help protect your reputation. • Help to avoid heavy financial loss, and more! All these benefits can give your clients peace of mind & confidence when working with you. Our mission at ApolloGuard is to make it as easy as possible for busy business owners, CISO & tech people that what to effectively secure their company before malicious attackers find & exploit their infrastructure. And the way we accomplish this is by offering free effective consultation calls for people looking to start their security journey, or take it to the next level. Easily book your free consultation here: https://lnkd.in/gEWF78Np #cybersecurity #vulnerabilityassessment #securityawareness #businesssecurity

Pentesting vs Vulnerability Assessment A lot of companies don't know the difference between a vulnerability assessment & a penetration test. So in this post we will be going over both of them to clear any confusion you may have. And to also help you see which one would fit you best. They are both effective, but they are achieved in two different ways. First, let's start of with pentesting - Pentesting is a more hands on approach, and is more tailored to what the client wants, or what fits his infrastructure best. This will help find urgent hidden vulnerabilities that are may only affect their specific industry, in the specific area in their infrastructure their testing. Now second lets jump into Vulnerability Assessments - A vulnerabilities assessment will scan your entire infrastructure (unlike a pentest) with specialized tools to find any hidden vulnerabilities. This is effective if you want to dip your toes into investing in cybersecurity. So a couple things to recap: - Pentesting is a more hands on & custom approach on specific areas in your infrastructure - And a vulnerability assessment will scan your whole infrastructure, for common hidden vulnerabilities (and is a great way to kickstart your security journey) If you have any further questions, or are even confused, do not hesitate to message us for more info! And since we understand the importance of uncovering hidden vulnerabilities before irreversible damage is caused... We're offering free consultations to help kickstart your company's cybersecurity journey! Book yours here today: https://lnkd.in/gEWF78Np
