Last week, I told the team we needed to meet on Sunday at 8 a.m. Some might think I’m crazy, but with so much to prepare and discuss, we had 2️⃣ options... Stay in bed a little longer or get to work and finish the year in the best way possible ↓ As you can see, we chose to work. ✔ We wanted to finalize the plans, goals, and projects for 2025. ✔ It was the perfect moment to give honest feedback—both the good and the bad—to each team member. ✔ We also took the opportunity to bond and strengthen the team. Don’t get me wrong, we enjoy taking a break too. 💡 But we knew this was the time to make it count. Something we’ve learned this year: ⭐ The importance of valuing each other and communicating with clarity. ⭐ That respect and good vibes are key to facing any challenge. It’s been amazing what we’ve achieved in 2024: 📌 In the first half of the year, we developed the idea and created our first prototype with a lot of hard work. 📌 In the second half, we launched the MVP in mid-September, and it already has more than 14000 users—and the subscriptions keep growing! We hacked our way to the top!🏆 Proud to share that my team, consisting of Sean Teo, Tianhui Huang and I, won the Best Hack Overall award at Workato's 3rd annual Hackathon! 🎉 This idea was sparked during a lunch with Amanda Wong - thank you, Amanda! This past April, Stephanie Dwight hosted the highly anticipated company-wide hackathon, celebrating innovation among our talented team members. Our winning hack? An AI Copilot solution analyzing automation workflows to identify inefficiencies and generate optimized versions - delivering better customer outcomes like lower costs, decreased tasks usage, and enhanced efficiency. 🌟 Excited to share a project that earned me the Top Fellow badge at NextLeap! If you’ve ever tried booking tickets for high-demand events like the Cricket World Cup 2023 or the Coldplay concert in 2024, you know the struggle is real: 1️⃣ You can’t log in or get that elusive OTP. 2️⃣ You’re stuck in a queue that seems never-ending. 3️⃣ Somehow, people who joined after you magically get ahead. 4️⃣ Scalpers resell tickets for crazy prices on platforms like Viagogo. 5️⃣ And, just as you’re about to seal the deal… the site crashes. I saw these frustrations unfold firsthand, with BookMyShow facing a flood of criticism. But it got me thinking: How can we fix this? 💡 The Real Issue: Scalping by individuals and bots, turning a joyful experience into a nightmare. 🔑 My Proposed Solution: A system designed to prevent scalping while giving users a fair shot at booking their dream events. This project was a rollercoaster. The problem kept evolving, challenging me to dig deeper, adapt, and think critically about every detail.
