The new statue of Lady Justice at the Supreme Court of India, without a blindfold, signifies a bold step toward perceptive and unbiased justice. By holding the Constitution instead of a sword, it emphasizes our commitment to democracy and fairness over force, beautifully merging traditional Indian elements with modern ideals. In light of the RG Kar case, this change symbolizes hope for justice for Abhaya and her parents. Chief Justice DY Chandrachud and his peers are steering us toward a judicial system that truly sees and serves the people. What are your thoughts on this new vision of justice? Demolition and Violence: The BJP's policies and actions, such as the demolition of Muslim homes following communal riots (e.g., the 2002 Gujarat riots), can be seen as part of a broader strategy to marginalize Muslims in India. These actions often occur under the guise of law enforcement but are perceived as punitive measures against a specific community, reinforcing a narrative of Hindu nationalism that seeks to assert dominance over minorities.

Public Display of Affection in itself is a way of expressing physical intimacy. While this is well accepted in certain settings, it is greatly frowned at in other climes. Who could ever think engaging in PDA is enough to get an individual nabbed with prison term or other punishment as seen fit? Such settings include India's legislation backing up the prohibition of such activity. This may be a weird law but Indians have clearly understood to not cross the fine line of affection. #legalnuggets #IndianLaw #LawGlobal
