Exciting news! I’m proud to share my latest publication in JU Open Plus on "Patient Preferences for Surgical Treatments for Benign Prostatic Hyperplasia: A Discrete Choice Experiment", published, among others, together with my colleagues Vera Vennedey. This research emphasizes the critical role of #SharedDedcisionMaking under consideration of #PatientPreferenceInformation (PPI) to ensure treatment decisions align with what truly matters to the individual patients — their needs and expectations. Supporting and advancing patient preference research is something I feel deeply passionate about, and I’m always happy to connect for further projects in this field!
We are proud to share that the admedicum colleagues Vera Vennedey and Christian Hoenig authored, together with others, a new publication in the Journal JU Open Plus on Patient Preferences for Surgical Treatments for Benign Prostatic Hyperplasia: A Discrete Choice Experiment. Read the full publication here: https://lnkd.in/dyj6Ysb8 This research highlights the importance of understanding what truly matters to patients when considering treatment options. By incorporating patient preference information (PPI), healthcare decisions become better aligned with patients' needs, values, and expectations – something we at admedicum are deeply committed to through our patient2decide solutions. A big thank you to our dedicated team and co-authors for advancing patient-focused solutions in healthcare research! #PatientEngagement #PatientPreferences #PatientExperience #SharedDecisionMaking

From those living with IgG4-RD and their loved ones to physicians specializing in IgG4-RD, we encourage you to check out the new IgG4ward! Foundation Physician Network, which officially launches today! https://lnkd.in/egYQbvtW The Physician Network, which is comprised of physicians from 24 countries and territories across 6 continents, focusing on 12 different specialties and subspecialties, is a tool to help individuals more easily find a physician with expertise in IgG4-RD, hopefully reducing the time in receiving accurate diagnoses and appropriate care. Dr. John Stone, IgG4ward! Founder shares: "We hear over and over again of the difficulties our patients face in identifying doctors who are prepared to help them. Yet we see the medical community's keen interest in every aspect of IgG4-RD, which seems to grow every week in both the medical literature and at medical meetings. The IgG4ward! Foundation's Physician Network will help link patients to the committed physicians they need. I anticipate that the Network will continue to expand quickly, and we will post frequent updates." If you're a physician or know a physician who may be interested in joining the Network, you can learn more here: https://lnkd.in/edaga22G #igg4rd #igg4relateddisease #raredisease #rarediseaseawareness

On this World Patient Safety Day 2024, the World Health Organization emphasises the importance of accurate and timely diagnosis as a key driver for improving patient health and safety. 👉 Diagnostics serve as a navigation system for the care team to provide patients with the right care at the right time. 👉 The diagnostic process consists of several steps, each requiring great care and precision. 👉 Medical technology is a crucial aid for the care team throughout the entire cycle, including in-vitro diagnostic tests, medical imaging, and more. 👉 Making the right diagnosis is a team effort—among healthcare providers, between the healthcare team and the patient, and also between healthcare providers, policymakers, and industry to ensure timely access to valuable diagnostic tools. We’d like to take this opportunity to once again highlight this interview with Julie HOTTON on in-vitro diagnostics (IVDs). As Head of Clinical Biology at Europa Ziekenhuizen, she clearly describes both the value and complexity of IVDs for patients, healthcare providers, and society. You can read the interview on our website: - In French: https://lnkd.in/euFFzKTi - In Dutch: https://lnkd.in/eX66Usj4 💪 Let’s continue investing in diagnostics as an invaluable lever for patient safety and quality healthcare. #medtechmatters #qualityofcare #patientsafety #WorldPatientSafetyDay #diagnostics
