Entries are reviewed and rated by no fewer than five (5) judges who have been approved as qualified by Stevie® Awards staff based on the overall quality of the entry, including the merits of the claims claimed in the entry relative to the judges’ experience and their knowledge of the participant’s industry, as well as the quality of the entry’s content itself. The entry fee was $330. The award included no associated compensation and was solely based on the metrics described. Finalists were announced on September 19, 2024, and Gold, Silver, and Bronze winners will be announced on November 8, 2024.

ELF commissioned research that showed there are more Dicks (people called Richard, Rick, Dickie) than there are Hispanic women on Boards in Corporate America. Let that sink in 😮 ELF are calling for companies to acknowledge the work still to be done and collaborate to make meaningful commitments and ‘change the board game’. As one of the highest growth global companies, ELF stand as a beacon for what diverse board representation and diversity of experiences in leadership can achieve in real terms for business growth. Their board is made up of 2/3rds women and 1/3 of the board identify as from diverse backgrounds. And they are delivering, on an incredible scale. According to this research and despite modest female representation progress in senior leadership roles, Black women still face unique barriers to reaching the upper ranks, and their much slower promotion pace has led them to, on average, take more frequent career risks than their white counterparts. Companies should take a holistic view and facilitate organizational changes that create positive leadership experiences for all employees and elicit more opportunities for minority leaders to emerge.

Whenever I meet my friends, they will say, "Amye! I heard a lot of sustainable world. But this is the first time I heard about sustainable mind. What is it all about?" For me, in order to create a more sustainable world, sustainable mind is needed. Sustainable mind (at least from my own definition) is all about being mindful and aware on how to live life alive. In order to create a sustainable world, tools such as ESG is used. Sustainable world is more often linked to business context. How about when out of business context? How about people sustainability? I read some articles related to people sustainability. And it all goes back to the purpose in it still within business context. It's about how to retain people, work-life balance and so on. Let's rethink sustainability differently, out of business context, and focusing on sustainable mind in the context of getting people living alive. Create a sense of psychological safety where everyone feels valued, respected, and heard, which is essential for building resilience and adaptability in the face of change. For a long time, I felt that being young was a disadvantage, especially when it came to building credibility and overcoming imposter syndrome. I worried that clients would judge me based on my age, and that I wouldn’t be seen as experienced enough. Receiving this Young Businesswoman Award was a breakthrough. Let’s face it—there’s often unconscious bias when it comes to age, gender, and minority status. The worst part, we internalise those doubts. Winning this award right after I had my 30th birthday reminds me that our unique identities, the challenges they bring, are what give us strength and growth. As a minority woman, I’ve faced many obstacles that helped build my resilience, giving me the drive to empower others. To the people who trust and support me—those who see ability beyond age, gender, or race—you’ve helped me grow and embrace my passion for uplifting others. So, let’s ask ourselves: what do we associate age with? Do we judge people or ourselves by that? How can you leverage that? Does age truly equate to experience? How can we value diverse perspectives and fresh ideas that come with youth and unique backgrounds? Thank you for this recognition and for believing in what I bring to the table.
