I've had some really refreshing conversations this week, wanted to share some highlights: 1. A hiring manager that reads every single resume he receives for his vacancies, his words were "I don't want to risk missing out on a great hire because of an automated filter, education and number of years' experience aren't the be all and end all of a great hire!" Sure, this is time consuming, but is it more time consuming than making a bad hire? 2. A candidate who had been laid off this year reflecting on how grateful they were to have had 15 years working in Biopharma including the commercialization of two very popular drugs. So much so, he had previously been stopped when out on a lunch break wearing his company jersey, as I member of the public wanted to say thank you for the work into this drug as it had cured their aunty!! That's what's it's all about, working with great people, for a great cause that really can change someone's life.
