"Pakistan's education system is failing to prepare students for the modern workforce. We're producing graduates with skills that don't match industry needs, leaving them unemployable and industries understaffed. It's like training for a job that no longer exists. It's time for our universities to rethink their approach. We need to move beyond outdated curricula and focus on the skills that matter most in today's fast-paced world like tech, innovation, and entrepreneurship. Our students deserve to learn practical skills that will actually help them land jobs and make a difference. They need to be taught how to think critically, solve problems, and stay curious. Let's give them the tools they need to thrive in a rapidly changing world. #newbies #graduates #unemployment #struggle #hardships #jobs #digitalmarketing

Ever wondered why so many graduates struggle to find jobs? A significant factor is the misalignment between what’s taught in classrooms and what employers are actually looking for. Graduates often emerge with degrees in fields that have little demand, leading to a surplus of talent with nowhere to go. While we’ve seen an increase in the number of universities, the quality of education remains a concern. Many institutions focus on theoretical knowledge at the expense of practical skills. Graduates may excel in exams but find themselves unprepared for real-world challenges, making it tough to land that first job. Since the early 2000s, Pakistan has witnessed a surge in graduates—yet job creation hasn’t kept pace. The result? A staggering graduate unemployment rate that is nearly three times higher than the national average! With around 16.1% of graduates unable to find work, it’s clear we need to rethink our approach. Let’s not forget about gender disparities in employment. Female graduates face unemployment rates that are about 3.8 times higher than their male counterparts, highlighting systemic issues that need urgent attention. #jobhunt #educationsystem #changesystem #challanges

According to the 2023-24 Economic Survey presented in the parliament, only 51.25% of Indian youth have employable skills, which also means that every other youth is not competent enough for employment in the modern economy. Just a mere academic qualification in the form of a certificate, diploma, or degree is not enough. In the competitive VUCA world, every organisation requires dynamic and competent resources. It's important for both educational institutions and the student communities to focus on skill development aspects as well and help our country's youth build the right competencies to find the right employment. At Deeproserves, our skills development and career services therefore facilitate individuals acquiring the right skills for the right job profile. We lived in a moment where young people are #unemployed because they weren’t learning #skills that are #relevant to the global economy. Just understanding that allow us to build a model of education that could fix that and help things grow. The why is about the #job #creation, then this will evolve to create the new generation of #highly #skilled and #competent workforce that would take on the country’s challenges. How on earth do we expect to be doing the same thing over and over and expect different results. I hope 🤞 to some improvement in the education sector with the appointment of @Dr. Habibatou Drammeh #MinistryofBasicandSecondaryEducation.

Where are the jobs? Where are the people? The bitter truth of Bangladesh's youth force. Private universities are mushrooming, graduations are happening each year in thousands and thousands, disguised unemployment are in millions. Some serious thinking and solution needs to be done to convert around 28% to 29% of Bangladesh, who are between aged 15 - 29, to become assets of progress for the country. Alternative education, specialized skill sets development beyond traditional jobs, entrepreneurship, outsourcing, tech innovators are all areas through which unemployment can convert to employment. Certificate based job creation and selection needs to be seriously rethought. #umemployment #jobcreation https://lnkd.in/g96vufa9.

Unemployed Graduates; Fixing The School Curriculums #femiokikiola Have we ever wondered who designed the school Curriculums and for what reasons? What were the challenges that the schools curriculums were assigned to address as of the time they were designed ? Do the same problems exist today? What are the root causes of unemployment today? The industrial revolution created an urgent need for people to be trained as professionals to take up responsibilities in diverse positions begging to be filled. The industrial revolution created further opportunities for businesses that serve these industries. So, the all schools curriculums were designed to serve these needs. Obviously and without doubt, the environment and conditions today are completely different. Young graduates and professionals alike are now finding it increasingly difficult to get jobs due to a shift in needs, demand and supply. And unfortunately, the curriculums that was created by schools to meet the needs of those days can no longer serve the needs of today, thereby creating a hole and leaving hundreds of thousands of graduates struggling to get jobs in a market that has become so big, and competitive. We are crying for an urgent need to revisit the schools curriculums for us to meet the needs of today. The curriculums should be redesigned to develop learners that can grow to become more independent and creative and skilled in the use of technology to create personal business , in vocationals, creative writing, agricultural services and other opportunities, SME, trading, etc. So that by the time they are graduating from school, they would have learnt so much to choose from to be on their own, even if those jobs are difficult to get. Governments can also support these people with funds to kickstart and give them the support they will be needing to thrive. With all these, the world will worry less about unemployment as this can also help to develop the per capital income and GDP of a country. This is wishing us a blessed week ahead. Thank you. Education shapes behaviors to instill desired values in individuals. It imparts knowledge and hones skills that are essential for both personal growth and professional success. If the education system fails to uphold these principles and produce competent individuals, it must undergo significant changes. The current focus is on evaluating whether Bangladesh's education system has successfully achieved these fundamental goals. One critical issue that needs addressing is the mismatch between graduates' skills and the job market's demands. For example, assigning a doctor or an engineer to roles outside their expertise leads to a waste of national resources. Why would a graduate from a prestigious institution like BUET need to work in general banking? Similarly, why do banks hire engineers or sociology graduates for banking positions? The education system often falls short in providing the necessary workforce for specific sectors, resulting in a disconnect between graduates' abilities and market needs. As a result, employers are compelled to hire individuals with unrelated backgrounds, leading to inefficiencies and setbacks in the respective sectors. With limited resources and a fast-paced global economy, employers are increasingly turning to international markets for skilled workers, draining the country's foreign currency reserves. This trend not only impacts the economy but also affects the livelihoods of local workers, including those in the garment industry and expatriates. #RaiseAgainstAutism #PinnacleSaysItAll #PinnacleBloomsNetwork #1AutismTherapyCentresNetwork

The following writeup is simply me voicing my personal opinion. Btw, the image attached is AI generated. Why Increasing the Age Limit for Government Job Applications to 35 is a Step in the Wrong Direction As a private sector professional in Bangladesh, I’ve always found the allure of government jobs to be less appealing. However, the recent push by graduates to raise the application age limit for government jobs to 35 has caught my attention, and not in a positive way. Currently, the ratio of available positions to applicants is approximately 10,000 to 1. If the age limit is increased to 35, this ratio could skyrocket to 15,000 to 1 or even 20,000 to 1. This change would only exacerbate the already fierce competition. In my opinion, the application age should be lowered to 27. Most students graduate at 24 or 25, and spending the next decade chasing a government job is not practical. By the time they turn 35, they will struggle to find acceptance in the private sector as freshers. Moreover, working under younger colleagues who chose the private sector right after graduation can be demoralizing. This move could lead to increased depression among the youth rather than alleviating it. Instead of focusing solely on government jobs after university, we should emphasize trade skills education and entrepreneurship-focused education. These areas can provide more sustainable and diverse career paths, empowering our graduates to create their own opportunities and contribute to the economy in innovative ways. We need to rethink our approach to creating sustainable career paths for our graduates. #CareerDevelopment #GovernmentJobs #PrivateSector #YouthEmployment #MentalHealth #TradeSkills #Entrepreneurship

I am proud to announce that I have published my first journal on SA Journal of Human Resource Management with the kind assistance of my supervisors; Prof. Lené Graupner and Roslyn Lodewyk-Raliphada🙏. 𝗧𝗶𝘁𝗹𝗲𝗱: 𝗣𝗿𝗲𝗽𝗮𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗴𝗿𝗮𝗱𝘂𝗮𝘁𝗲𝘀 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗷𝗼𝗯 𝗺𝗮𝗿𝗸𝗲𝘁: 𝗔 𝘀𝘁𝗿𝗲𝗻𝗴𝘁𝗵-𝗯𝗮𝘀𝗲𝗱 𝘀𝗸𝗶𝗹𝗹 𝗱𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗹𝗼𝗽𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗮𝗽𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗮𝗰𝗵 This study explored the challenges faced by graduates entering the South African job market. The research highlights the importance of skills development, particularly focusing on a strength-based approach. This approach empowers graduates to identify and utilise their unique strengths, increasing their chances of finding employment. The study emphasises the need for training programmes that equip graduates with essential skills like: - Communication - Teamwork - Self-awareness - Emotional intelligence By adopting a strength-based approach to skills development, we can significantly enhance the employability of graduates in South Africa. This approach aligns with 𝗦𝗗𝗚 𝟰 (𝗤𝘂𝗮𝗹𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗘𝗱𝘂𝗰𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻) and 𝗦𝗗𝗚 𝟴 (𝗗𝗲𝗰𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗪𝗼𝗿𝗸 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗘𝗰𝗼𝗻𝗼𝗺𝗶𝗰 𝗚𝗿𝗼𝘄𝘁𝗵). By empowering graduates to recognize and utilize their strengths, we can help reduce inequalities and create a more equitable and inclusive job market. This aligns with 𝗦𝗗𝗚 𝟭𝟬 (𝗥𝗲𝗱𝘂𝗰𝗲𝗱 𝗜𝗻𝗲𝗾𝘂𝗮𝗹𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗲𝘀), promoting equal opportunities for all. #skillsdevelopment #unemployment #graduates #southafrica #education #SDG4 #SDG8 #SDG10 Follow link: https://lnkd.in/dcfsWxVh
