Recent advances in water heating equipment present an opportunity to showcase the benefits of propane to homebuilders and homeowners alike. Hydronic heat pump solutions like the Heat Pump Helper are leading the way, bringing the comfort of propane to newly installed or pre-existing heat pumps. Hello, I'm Brian Cordell, Director of Residential Business Development with the Propane Education Research Council, or PERK. I want to share with you some innovations in home heating technology using propane. Traditional electric heat pumps struggle to deliver comfort and efficiency in cold temperatures. Most traditional heat pumps depend on electric resistance heat to make up the difference. Hydronic heat pump solutions like the heat Pump Helper feature hybrid technology to bring the comfort of propane to newly installed or pre-existing heat bumps. Pairing a hydronic heat pump with a propane storage tank, tankless water heater, or even a boiler is an innovation that provides solutions for builders and homeowners. Here's how it works. When the wall thermostat calls for heat, it engages A circulating pump, starting the flow of hot water through the hydronic heating coal, which is mounted on the year end. The air is heated as the blower moves the air into the home. Water continues to circulate through the water heater, and the hydronic heating cool as long as there is a call for heat. Water also flows to domestic hot water fixtures like the sink or the shower on demand. One gas line, one vent. Doing the job of two appliances, not your propane water heater paired with a hydronic heat pump provides both hot water and space heating to your home. The result is improved efficiency, lower operating cost and greater comfort. I appreciate you taking the time to join me today.
