🌱 New Fertilizer Plant Set to Transform Tanzania's Agriculture 🌍 Exciting times are ahead for Tanzania! A new fertilizer plant is on the horizon, thanks to a collaboration between the Tanzania Investment Centre , the Tanzania Fertilizer Regulatory Authority, and the Petroleum Development Corporation, alongside ESSA from Indonesia. This plant, located in Mtwara, will utilize natural gas to produce urea fertilizers, significantly boosting agricultural productivity and creating jobs for the youth. Set to be completed by 2027, with production starting in 2029, this development is a major step toward making Tanzania self-reliant in fertilizer production. As fertilizer usage in the country rises—from 500,000 tons in 2022/2023 to 800,000 tons in 2023/2024—this plant will play a critical role in meeting future demand. #MetagroHolding #Agriculture #Fertilizer #Tanzania #SustainableGrowth

Based on my valuation ( ifa ) #fertilizer companies and #agricultural firms, as well as my phd studies, I have identified several key issues regarding fertilizers in Egypt: Transportation System Issues: The primary reason for the lack of fertilizer availability in Egypt is the transportation system, not production. The percentage of fertilizer allocations delivered to the Ministry of Agriculture and Land Reclamation reached approximately 88% last year. However, the delivery percentage for this year, up to January 15, 2024, is about 60%, totaling 125,000 tons of the monthly quota. Lack of a Balanced Fertilizer Map: There is no fertilizer map that balances the fertilizer elements with the needs of each region across the country. No Allocation of Subsidized Fertilizers for Large Areas: Large areas over 25 feddans are not allocated shares of subsidized fertilizers despite high costs, especially since they are located in newly reclaimed areas. Inaccurate Land Measurement by the Ministry of Agriculture: The Ministry of Agriculture and Land Reclamation's measurements of cultivated areas are inaccurate and not reflective of reality. This discrepancy leads to an increase in fertilizer quotas for some crops that are not actually planted. #valuation #ifa #fertilizers #agricultural

🌱𝐀𝐟𝐫𝐢𝐜𝐚 𝐅𝐞𝐫𝐭𝐢𝐥𝐢𝐳𝐞𝐫 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐒𝐨𝐢𝐥 𝐇𝐞𝐚𝐥𝐭𝐡 𝐒𝐮𝐦𝐦𝐢𝐭. There has been an expansion in fertilizer production facilities across the Continent, especially in West and North Africa. In Egypt and South Africa, for instance, per-hectare fertilizer application rates approach those in developed countries. There are also more agro-dealers, resulting in reduced distances farmers have to cover to procure fertilizers. Be part of the campaign to #ListenToTheLand. Together we can transform Africa’s soil health. #AFSH Details ♾️ https://lnkd.in/dPmnpYMG
