"To be honest, my first reaction is, this is a happy day for the syrians. a regime that has tortured, disappeared, killed, executed, used chemical weapons on its own people is no more. We can analyze. We know the road ahead is going to be very challenging. Syria is very complex, internally, but also complex regional dynamics, but I think it's important to recognize and to see the happiness and the agency that the Syrian population is feeling today." Wow, who would have thought that the Assad regime would have fallen so quickly? Syria is really going down an... interesting path. To try to make sense of things, I've come out with the second part of my series on who the Syrians are and what's going on where. They're a great start to understand what's happening on the ground, especially before the situation gets even more complicated. Check it out here! https://lnkd.in/d5Drkuyv

Syria' has fallen. The Rebel that seized power in Syria is not actually a single group, but has emerged from numerous groups, some of whom are citizens of other countries, some of whom are extremists and are against each other. When they settle in Syria and form a government, naturally, as the rulers of this land, they can become a serious threat to Syria's surrounding neighbors (Turkey, Iraq, Jordan, Lebanon, and Israel). Because Syria's surrounding neighbors (Israel and Turkey) have aggressive plans for Syria's territorial integrity, and these opposition groups will not tolerate these plans after the formation of the new government. For example, today the Israel regime announced that the 1974 agreement has been collapsed and the Zionist regime intends to occupy Jamal al-Sheikh to create a security zone. In addition, starting this morning, Israel has been bombing various and numerous military centers in Syria. The Israeli regime, which had tried hard to destroy Bashar al-Assad, is now facing another serious threat, and the recent ground and air attacks on Syria are also due to this concern. On the other hand, the armed groups that will soon form a government need money to manage the country, and Syria's most important oil and gas resources are under American occupation and in eastern Syria, and this will become a challenge for the United States and these groups soon. So what happened was perhaps their interest in overthrowing Bashar's government, but at the same time they (Turkey, Israel & the US) are worried about what the consequences will be. There is an important question that why the Syrian government fell so fast. The answer to this question goes back to 15 years of war and global pressures (economically & politically) on Syria. The Israel regime has also weakened the country's army through airstrikes in recent years. On the other hand, the opposition groups have also obtained advanced weapons from various countries that many modern armies do not have. And for this reason, the Syrian government, army, and people have decided not to resist much here. Syria's allies also have not been able to do anything because of that. #geostrategy #geopolitics #economy #energy #war #worldaftercovid19 #postpandemic #hybridwar #syria #russia #damascus #moscow #middleeast

As they move closer to Homs, the regime’s grip on Syria weakens, and the fear of a potential collapse of Assad's government intensifies. The situation has sparked deep divisions, with the Alawite community, to which Assad belongs, feeling increasing fear, while opposition groups and displaced Syrians are seeing renewed hope. As the international community watches closely, the coming weeks will be pivotal in determining Syria's future trajectory. Bashar al-Assad, who has ruled Syria since 2000, has reportedly fled to Russia following a rapid advance by rebel forces into Damascus. This marks a turning point after years of civil war that left the country devastated and displaced millions. The fall of Assad’s regime follows a sudden insurgency led by Hayat Tahrir al-Sham, which quickly overwhelmed government defenses in key areas, including Homs and the capital. As news of his departure spread, celebrations erupted across Syria. World leaders have expressed cautious optimism about the end of Assad's rule, with U.S. President Joe Biden calling it a "historic opportunity" for Syrians to rebuild. The situation, however, remains volatile as power dynamics in the region shift rapidly. Analysts predict challenges ahead in stabilizing Syria and addressing the long-term impacts of the conflict. #Syria #BasharAlAssad #MiddleEastCrisis #RebelVictory #BreakingNews #CivilWar #GlobalPoliticsaffairs #Damascus

Thank you Dalia Ziada for your honesty and bravery in promoting truths! Im kinda of tired of hearing the same stupid ideas and solutions by so called helpers. Apparently the last deal was changed by the Egyptians after the meeting without telling the CIA or Israel… Who the h$& writes this…?! Are the countries that are allowing the hate and antisemitism have been infiltrated to the highest levels?! I’m not sure if they are stu$&@ or blind with those deals suggested! Maybe it’s reminder time again: - Israel is under daily attacks/ that’s not on the news - the attacks come from all directions/ extrimist terrorist (For those who don’t know) - the so called Palestinians have been told lies for a few generations (like poisonous information in a death cult) and also have been disbursed in drips and drabs into the world by the UN (do some light homework you will find what I am saying) - if there are innocents there (and I believe there is a chance of at least 25% in there that are fed up with ham&s, the terror group is the one occupying their territory, using them as shields and stealing their food. - Israel did allow a lot of food into that area (go online and do a tiny search and you will find that, but also what the terrorists do, how it’s exploited and tha disrespect and waste of it) - Egypt not just not help them nor did Jordan in order to keep them there as the sheep and propoganda their are meant to be. (Google how Jordanians and Egyptian treat Palestinians) But they point fingers at the one being attacked… hmmmm - they found terror tannels going to Egypt.. look it up - WHERE are the hostages? (Bodies and hostages were found at civilians homes and UN facilities) - They had their own sovereign state but it was run by terrorists who attacked the only people that ever helped them (Israel) because they are thought lies and hate that helping hand?! STOP REWARDING TERRORISTS! #stopterrorism #DefundtheUN do your homework! #SupportIsrael for your own sake!

Dear President Biden, This is not a peace deal! This is the deal for a durable disaster in the Middle East! ❌ An immature “Ceasefire” = throwing a lifeline to Hamas while the Israeli forces are only few steps away from completely crushing the terrorist organization that committed the horrors of October 7. ❌ “A surge in humanitarian aid to Gaza” = giving Hamas the money it needs to recover from the war and re-arm. There was a surge in funding to Gaza for years but it never went to the Gazans who truly needed it. Rather than building houses, Hamas built tunnels. Rather than building schools, Hamas built martial camps to grow radical Islamist militants. 👉 Ceasefire + Surge in funding = empowering Hamas and all the fellow terrorist organizations working under Iran’s supervision. 💡 If you want to keep the Middle East in this rut forever, keep pressuring for this disastrous proposal to shape into a deal. But, if you want to help the Middle East recover and develop, just back Israel in its war against Hamas and Iran. #Israel #Hamas #Gaza #BreakingTheCycle #Egypt #Qatar #United_States #Rafah #مصر #قطر #أمريكا #بايدن #اسرائيل #حماس #إيران

“Reshaping the region’s balance of power”, is likely an understatement. The events in Syria could potentially have consequences of a magnitude never seen before. There are a number of countries with national interests, like Israel, Turkey, Iran, the U.S. and Russia. The number of rebel groups with terrorist links are as numerous as the stars in the sky, and loyalties are constantly shifting. There is already a major conflict, and even war, taking place in the region where all the mentioned countries have stakes. Which countries can interfere and what would the outcome be? Difficult to say, but the Natomember Turkey will never accept a development where Kurd affiliated terrorist groups gain any more influence and control of territory. Besides, what will Turkey do with the millions of refugees that fled to Turkey during the initial stages of the civil war? A melting hot pot is about to burst, fuelled by the impact from global heating.

I joined a panel of commentators on News9Live Global Lens to discuss the prospects for the future of the #Lebanon #ceasefire. Some of the points that I raised: - #ceasefire looks extremely fragile; #Hizbullah broke the original ceasefire by entering the hostilities in October 2023, and can be expected to violate new truce at any moment. - #Israel has been under a lot of international pressure to conclude a #ceasefire; it has limited resources and no alternative plan. - the big question is whether the #LAF can be trusted to disarm #Hizbullah or keep it out of Southern Lebanon, as per the terms of the agreement. After all, what was stopping #Lebanon government from doing so unilaterally or month or two ago? - #Lebanon government is deeply penetrated by #Hizbullah; this cooptation is much a political issue as it is a #Military issue and thus far there is no answer to resolve it. - #Israel dealt a severe blow to #Hizbullah through the pager operation and consequent strikes; the #ceasefire is an opportunity for the terrorist organization to rearm/regroup and to recruit new followers. In general, both #Hizbullah and #Iran operate under the principle: "survive to fight another day", and so they are willing to sign off on an agreement just so both the #Paramilitary #Proxy, #Iran's right hand in the region, and the regime itself could return to combat at a later future date. - Weakening of #Hizbullah should have been a great opportunity for the international community to dissolve and disarm the organization, but it is being allowed to retain presence in #Lebanon. - The biggest issue is that #Hizbullah's loyalty is not to the Lebanese state but to #Iran which has not moved away from its geopolitical agenda in the region. - #Iran has already been reaching out to the incoming #Trump administration to reach some sort of a political arrangement for the sake of its political survival; it will ultimately not abandon #Hizbullah, which is central to the Islamic Republic's regional strategy.
