Dubai’s Salik system is set to expand with two new toll gates becoming operational on November 24. Located at Business Bay Crossing on Al Khail Road and Al Safa South on Sheikh Zayed Road, these new gates aim to ease traffic congestion, increasing Dubai’s total toll gates from eight to ten. According to Salik CEO Ibrahim Al Haddad, the Business Bay gate could reduce traffic by up to 15% on key roads, while Al Safa South will optimize traffic flow on Sheikh Zayed Road, linking with the northern Al Safa gate to offer single-charge passage within an hour. Both gates will be almost fully solar-powered, supporting Dubai’s commitment to green energy. Salik continues to maintain a fixed fee of Dh4 per crossing, with no plans for dynamic pricing, as confirmed by the company. #dubaitraffic #salikdubai #trafficupdates #dubairoads #smartcitydubai #sustainabledubai #roadtoll #dubainews #salikgates #publictransportdubai #dubaiupdates #cityofdubai #greenenergy

Sharjah's Roads and Transport Authority (SRTA) has launched the first phase of its electric bus operation, with 10 buses serving 3 intercity lines. This initiative supports the Climate Neutrality 2050 initiative and promotes green public transportation in the emirate. The move follows Abu Dhabi's launch of 'green' buses, including electric and hydrogen-powered vehicles, on September 12. These eco-friendly buses operate on Route 65 between Marina Mall and Shams Boutik in Al Reem Island, reducing harmful pollutants and carbon emissions. By transitioning from diesel to renewable energy, Abu Dhabi expects to cut annual carbon dioxide emissions by over 100,000 metric tonnes. Hydrogen-powered buses, in particular, only emit water vapor, making them an environmentally sustainable option. #SustainableTransportation #ElectricBuses #GreenEmirates
