Dubai’s Salik system is set to expand with two new toll gates becoming operational on November 24. Located at Business Bay Crossing on Al Khail Road and Al Safa South on Sheikh Zayed Road, these new gates aim to ease traffic congestion, increasing Dubai’s total toll gates from eight to ten. According to Salik CEO Ibrahim Al Haddad, the Business Bay gate could reduce traffic by up to 15% on key roads, while Al Safa South will optimize traffic flow on Sheikh Zayed Road, linking with the northern Al Safa gate to offer single-charge passage within an hour. Saudi Arabia is unveiling the first operational stage of its long-gestating Riyadh Metro November 27, 2024, a landmark development in the country's public transportation transformation. Three of the six planned metro lines that connect such hubs as Al Orouba, Batha, and King Khalid International Airport Road will be put into operation. The metro project will form part of Saudi Arabia's Vision 2030 initiative to reduce traffic congestion, cut dependence on cars, and make Riyadh a global transport hub. The remaining lines are to be completed by mid-December.
