My experience on a journey to IISMA Universiti Malaya 🌏 "The present isn't everything, but there are things you can only do now, things that you can only find here. It's now or never" This quote kept me trying to do new things and become awardee of IISMA which is excited! One of my dream to study aboard is about to get real when I passed Indonesian International Student Mobility Awards which was held by Kementerian Pendidikan dan Kebudayaan (Ministry of Education and Culture Republic of Indonesia). The process of course was challanging, yet it is rewarding and more to come! It is all thanks to my parents and my friends who supporting me this far. There are lot of hard times during the process but without them, I may not able to reach this point. Making me learn some of important point which is: 1. Don't think much about your first impression! Everyone impression toward you is renewed everyday. As you spend time with them more and grow with them, you come to understand more. 2. Ask help when you don't understand anything. There's a lot prespective that you may don't understand, but that's okay because everyone has diferent prespective. Ask someone whe you have a difficult time on something and it will give you a wide prespective on it. 3. Just wing it! That's how I say it. It wouldn't hurt if you try, there are lot chances if you fail. But if you sucess, then keep the beat and let it flow, trust the process and it will be fun at the end. 4. And the last is process is everything. I am really excited to be awardee of IISMA and its really valuable for me because the alot of efforts I put to become awardee. If wishes could be granted and desires can be fulfilled, I won't wish nor desire for anything. The thing you wished served on silver platter were never geniune after all because you never work hard for it. That's why I will always keep searching for it. Huge thanks to my AC mentor, Achmad Abdillah Pasha, for guiding me through pre-departure, who is also one of alumni of IISMA UM. #ToInclusivityAndBeyond #IISMA2024 #StudyAbroad #PersonalBranding #UniversitiMalaya

Whenever the VC or the person leading the graduation proceedings says those words '"your journey with us (ARU) doesn't end at graduation", I can't count the amount of scepticism I received in the last two weeks with the complain that when "you have kicked me out of my emails even before graduation". But I always refer to people like Dr Charles Nwachukwu as an example of the fact that the university still welcomes you staying connected. In fact, the Nigerian alumni is the most active in the university. So, I'm glad for this post that explain the process of how the journey does not end with graduation. It is a joy and pride of any university to say "that's my product excelling in her career". So, its only a reasonable thing for the journey not to end at graduation. I think this will be our next agenda on the section that focuses on ARU Supports at our weekly check-in calls (an example of which is here: https://lnkd.in/ezQPAysm) If you see me act like one crazy 'publicity secretary' for ARU, it's not because the university pays me a penny for that (thank God for Race Equality Advocate and SHoKE recently), it's rather because I see a wide gap between the great things the university does that makes it ranked by HESA (2023) 29th (out of 103) on research quality (which is quite remarkable) to what the students see that makes it ranked 101st and 117th (out of 130) on student satisfaction and continuation. That's a huge gap, which I don't just like to watch but do my bit in filling
