Since October 7th, the saying "so it goes" from Kurt Vonnegut's "Slaughterhouse-Five" has resonated deeply with me. In this novel, the Tralfamadorians have a unique perception of time and space, where everything occurs simultaneously, with time existing as a constant, immutable entity. In today's chaotic world, "so it goes" suggests a sense of resignation to these challenges but also a recognition of the need to continue persevering despite them. Following the events that started on the hellish day, I've refrained from posting on LinkedIn. The turmoil and hostility that engulfed academia, a realm I've dedicated much of my adult life to, felt overwhelming. Witnessing the deluge of vitriol, misinformation, and fierce antisemitism, I couldn't help but feel disheartened by the state of education – or perhaps, miseducation – that led us here. Yet, amidst the despair, there remains hope. Despite its role in our current predicament, education also holds the key to our redemption. As educators and researchers, it's incumbent upon us to confront these challenges head-on. We must continue championing critical thinking, knowledge dissemination, and empathy – values sorely lacking in today's discourse. It's not just a choice; it's our duty to future generations. From now on, I will resume sharing insights into my professional journey and endeavors to improve education. So it goes.

"As a first-generation student, her parents had little advice to offer, and her university didn’t provide any personalized academic advising." Great story of the Resilience of First-Gen Warriors. It really is a complicated process to navigate on your own as a young adult without any support. It can be so overwhelming, students can get lost and discouraged to finish the process. There is so much an institution can offer these days to help students in the process. Is your institution doing everything it can to help these First-Gen Warriors?

Did you know that Yale has a secret society that's been around for almost 200 years? It's called Skull and Bones, and it's super mysterious. -- Some really famous people have been members, including past presidents! The society meets in a building they call "The Tomb," which sounds pretty creepy. Nobody knows exactly what goes on in there, but there are tons of rumors and conspiracy theories about it. What's really cool is how this society has become part of American folklore. It's been featured in books, movies, and TV shows. It's like a real-life secret club that's captured people's imaginations for generations. I learned about this in history class and thought it was fascinating. It makes you wonder what other secrets these old colleges might be hiding. Have you heard any other interesting facts about Ivy League schools? It's pretty wild to think about all the history behind these places! Do you know any interesting facts about Ivy League colleges? Share those in the comments below.
