It set numerous speed and altitude records, demonstrating the potential of advanced aerodynamics and materials in aviation technology. Another landmark event is the establishment of the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) on October 11, 1944, under the Convention on International Civil Aviation. The ICAO plays a pivotal role in setting international standards and regulations, ensuring safe and orderly growth of global air transport. October 11 also marks the anniversary of the first commercial transatlantic flight by a British Overseas Airways Corporation (BOAC) aircraft in 1939. The International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) has launched a global Call to Action to accelerate the safe and sustainable deployment of Advanced Air Mobility (AAM). During its first-ever AAM symposium, over 400 officials from 75 countries, alongside aviation industry leaders like JoeBen Bevirt (Joby Aviation), Kyle Clark (BETA TECHNOLOGIES), and Johann C. Bordais (Eve Air Mobility), gathered to discuss global harmonization and interoperability challenges. Developed by Airways New Zealand, the system enhances the management of uncrewed aircraft operations, supporting the growth of New Zealand's aerospace sector.  The collaboration between Tāwhaki and Airways is a milestone in integrating advanced aviation technologies with indigenous knowledge (mātauranga Māori) for sustainable innovation.
