🔵 Annual Proteomics Symposium 2024 Key topics for this year edition include deep visual proteomics for mapping cell-to-cell heterogeneity, and multidimensional high-throughput metabolic profiling for identifying unconventional antibacterial and anticancer agents. 🙌 We're delighted to highlight a breakthrough in the study of multiple (𝟑𝟎!) synaptic proteins at low nanometer resolution, unveiled in the latest issue of Cell Press. The 𝐒𝐔𝐌-𝐏𝐀𝐈𝐍𝐓 method (Secondary Label-based Unlimited Multiplexed DNA PAINT) 🎨, a result of collaborative efforts among teams from the University Medical Center Göttingen, Max Planck Institute for Biochemistry, and Helmholtz Munich, provides unprecedented insights into the complexity of neuronal synapses 🧠. This super-resolution imaging technique represents a major leap in imaging a high number of target proteins within the same sample with nanometer precision 🔬. It enables the observation of 30 different proteins in 3D within nerve cells and uncovers a new type of rare synapses 🤩. Such a strategy for achieving comprehensive spatial proteomics at single-protein resolution could enhance our understanding of the mechanisms underlying neurological diseases such as Parkinson's and Alzheimer's. We are proud that this method effectively utilizes the secondary single-domain antibodies developed by #NanoTag Biotechnologies.
